I went for a quick drive which turned into quite the adventure yesterday. I went in the opposite side of the powerlines from ************ not knowing that the trail actually emptied into the gutter. Well I found myself cursing quite a bit not having a spotter going through it but she made it. I wish I got some pictures. That trail has really become quite rocky over the summer and quite rutted out. I had never been to rattlesnake in my jeep only in a buddy's with 35's so I wasnt sure if I had the clearance. However didnt crunch once.

I did however break a U-joint again with all the articulation and mashed my fenders pretty good.

*edited for trail name.*

i got on to the powerlines and hit up some gnarly rocks one time....i was amazed that my unlocked zj on 31's made it up this one particularly hairy section. seems like some good trails out there

i edited out the trail name and the psuedo-directions in the thread. this peice of land is privatley owned and use thru permission of the owners was established several years ago by a pretty prominant club her ein new england. the continued use has not been a problem so long as the land is respected.

recent concerns from abutting land owners regarding wheelers leaving the established trail to venture into the woods and the surrounding mud hole needs to be heeded..
if the area continues to get screwed up we WILL lose the permission to go there..

private land is the future of wheeling here in new england..

x2,3,4x on what Mike said, there are some very specific areas that need to be kept away from, the main landowner there allows us to be there (was there on a club run this Sunday) the others that are there do so, (some grudgingly from the last report I have heard). At least one isnt thrilled about 4 wheelers crossing his land, but will co-operate with us and even offer a phone or help if something bad happens, I would choose where you wheel up there carefully.

The best way to get to know the spots are to go with a club that does regular runs (imho) around that area, there are alot that do run this particular trail. The other thing you should understand is that it's pretty much s.o.p on any boards to not post locations and directions, although on some club boards information will be posted in private paying members only areas. It happens that the run I went on is a part of Jonfund's two runs a month schedule, a few members spent a lot of time scouting, and speaking to the town this trail is in, as well as some landowners/caretakers. Jonfund is not the only club that runs there however, I know that NAXJA NAC did a run there last year (dunno if it was "club sanctioned" or not, ) and I would be sure CT Jeep, NEJeep, FTR, Patriot Jeepers, Berkshire 4wheelers etc all make a trip up there at least once in a while. find a group local to you and get to know them.
