Anybody know what is the thread size of the two ports on an 87 XJ? Are they standard or metric, and what TPI/pitch are they?
Thanks

They're all standard, but I don't remember the pitch/TPI; since standard fittings only come in one pitch I never bothered to find out.

I'm wanting to think that the lines are 5/16", so whatever thread OD/pitch goes with SAE Double Flared 5/16" tubing...

If they're not 5/16", then they're probably 1/4" line - and I seem to recall that wanting something like a 3/8"-24 flare nut.

Why for do you want to know? Doing a plumbing conversion?

I'm planning on replumbing the front circuit similar to how the rear is setup. One line to the axle then teeing off to each wheel. I'm also getting rid of the proportioning valve because I think it is bad. My rear brakes never worked properly since my axle swap, I replaced everything in the rear ciruit except the proportioning valve trying to fix the problem (yes it was bleed and adjusted properly).

its not 5/16 or 1/4 i know it has a 3 in it. and the (wrench fittings are 5/8 and i think 7/16. but that is just a memory it might not be). and i dont think it would be a good idea to get rid of the proportioning valve. one goes out they all go out.

It's probably 3/8-24 fitting which is usually a 1/4 dia. line. I'll have to pull appart before I get parts to make sure. Its not a daily driver so I'm not worried about not having a proportioning valve.
