Question about swapping some axles

I have a 97 sport 2WD and a 96 Country 4X4. The pinion bearing is shot on my 97 and since I'm regearing my 96 I thought I would just swap axles since I will be replacing the pinion bearing in the 96 regardless. They are both 8.25 rear ends. Is it as easy as just flip-flopping or am I missing something?

pretty much as long as the gear ratios are the same...

further more the 97-01 8.25's have 29 spline axles shafts (compared to the 27 spline pre97 axle shafts) making the 97+ axles stronger

Do they both have ABS? Does that even matter for a rear axle?

I always get rid of ABS, so I can't remember.

8.25's never had abs.

Since you're talking about using it in the 2wd you don't really even have to worry about the ratio.

True but none the less they're both 3:55. I just wanted to make sure they would swap over before I end up with 2 disabled Jeeps.
