Did you say asada Craig? As in carne asada? mmmmmmmm (Homer Simpson drool sound) count me in!! I'm bringing my daughter too. She lives in Apple Valley. I could leave the McDonald's a little early (if that is where we are meeting) and go pick her up and then meet you guys at say Bear Valley Rd and Kiowa (it's on the way) or we all could swing by the ex's place. It's about 4 blocks off Bear Valley Rd. Either way works for me.
Since the mexican rice I made at the RockGarden went over pretty well. I figure I can whip some up at the desert race too. Should be a little easier than making enough for 60 people!! I've got 2 tables and a propane lantern but only a small, well used propane BBQ. If we are having asada then it should really be BBQ'd over coals. Anyone have a small BBQ or habachi? What else do people need to bring? plates, tortillas what else?

15 North to Victorville. Exit Bear Valley Rd and go East. It merges with Hwy 18. Keep going into Lucerne Valley and go straight. It becomes Hwy 247. Take Hwy 247 (Old Woman Springs Rd) East from Lucerne Valley and after 10 miles or so turn left on Bessemer Mine Rd. We usually use channel 4 on the CB.
Some of us are meeting at the McDonald's on the 15 about 1 mile past the Cleghorn exit. I think it's the Hwy 138 exit. I forget the time we are meeting. 5 pm I think. You are welcome to join us.

LOL I know what you mean...I bought a PIAA yellow visibility light Tuesday before the Riverside county MnG. The 4 Hella 500's on my roof rack have never been hooked up. I've been a stripping and crimping and soldering fool the last 2 nights. Relays...switches....power distribution box...you know...the right way to do it all. But I'm not hiding the wires yet....I want to get er done before the race.

I live pretty close to Andy too. If you need any wiring tools (crimper, crimp terminals, soldering iron, solder, heat shrink tubing, wire etc) let me know. I can bring the STRIPPERS too :)

3 relays and 3 fuse holders will run you about 55 bux with tax. if you can find relays cheaper somewhere else go for it. we only need 4pin relays, they are pretty common. and i have a shit load of fuses.

I crimp most things too...like spade terminals....about the only soldering I do is to splice 2 wires together....I don't like butt terminals (that name just doesn't appeal to me) :)

shocks felt great, I only got up to about 35 anything past that made my roof rack bounce too much...i think I may need some stigger coils though...went for a ride in craigs jeep and all I can say is wow that thing is awesome!Pics????

Yep it was a fun time. My daughter and I had a blast!! I've been taking her to Baja since she was about 2..she's almost 21 now. She said she hadn't been to a race in like 8 years.
A class 14 (1492) broke almost right in front of us. Cory and I were the first one's to offer help. They run a spring under rear setup and the spring perch had broken on the driver's side. Some others arrived to help. We lifted the back of the truck so they could move the rear axle into the correct position and used Cory's ratchet straps to hold the axle. Then they drove off to their pits and were done for the night.
Really good to see everyone. Craig is set up perfectly to go fast and that he did!! I could barely make it to 30 mph and he almost hit 60. He would stop every so often and let Cory and I catch up. Then he would take off again. Even my daughter commented on how quickly he left us behind. Cory's dog got sick from bouncing around while we both tried to keep up with Craig. LOL FUN TIMES!!!
xjhero found us and we all shot the sh!t for awhile.
Just before heading home Cory's gf says "Cory your hissing and spewing fluid everywhere". Those of us with the closed Renix system knows what that means. Cory was prepared with a spare and putting in the new bottle was no problemo.
Glad to hear everyone made it home safely.
