I have a 92 Jeep Cherokee Laredo with 175000 miles. I put a Flowmaster 40 Series muffler on it a while back and I am now thinking about removing my stock catalytic converter putting a connector pipe in its place and just riding with my Flowmaster on my exhaust. I don't have to pass any sort of emissions test or anything like that. I was thinking that I might get better gas milage because of this and I might get more sound which is what I really want!! Anyway hit me back would love to hear some suggestions. Thanks!!

I'd suggest leaving it on as it's sh!tty for the environment.

I noticed you listed Spokane as your location, if you're in Spokane, WA you have to pass emissions. You may be able to pass with a gutted cat, but if you remove the cat you wouldn't pass the visual part of the test. As already stated, I would leave in the cat or install a high flow model. If you are after more exhaust sound go with less exhaust, such as a Cherry Bomb or a straight pipe after the cat. Good Luck

Depends on what county you're in. I think it's stupid to pull out a working cat because you want more sound. It won't help your mileage and regardless of emissions testing, it is still a federal offense.

So you sound obnoxious?

Just kind of pointless IMO. A damn Chevette could sound "bad" without the muffler. What context were you implying when you said "bad" again?

ya just for a day. i have the 90 so it takes forever to start so once it does and gives that graar sound that will teach them to make comments to the jeep. ya you get in your station wagon the one who are talking. and i will be making a round trip of under 1 mile.

I find it odd that you associate a great sound with no exhaust. You've never heard all motor huh? A worked motor 4, 5, 6, or 8 cylinder can sound ballsy. The ricers at your school are probably doing it wrong (just a muffler) but I think my buddies 2 liter turbo Golf that runs mid 11's (no nitrous) sounds pretty sexy.

I don't have a station wagon. I would like to have a WRX or an Avant though.

What is a musical car? Is that like a calliope?

Hey......I resemble that remark.

90xj....I think that's a fine goal. Leave the muffler on the Jeep and save your pennies.
