View Full Version : Barack Obama's plan to disarm America

Senator Barack Obama's Ten Point Plan to "Change" the Second Amenment:

1) Ban use of firearms for home defense.

2) Pass Federal laws eliminating your Right To Carry.

3) Ban the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns.

4) Close down 90% of the gun shops in America.

5) Ban rifle ammunition commonly used for hunting and sport shooting.

6) Increase federal taxes on guns and ammunition by 500%.

7) Restore voting rights for five million criminals including those who have been convicted of using a gun to commit a violent crime.

8) Expand the Clinton semi-auto ban to include millions more firearms.

9) Mandate a government-issued license to purchase a firearm.

10) Appoint judges to the U.S. Supreme Court and Federal judiciary who share his views on the Second Amendment.

How do you feel about what he pans to do if he is elected?

LOL...if he actually does try this, the target on his own head would only grow exponentially....

I want to see what he plans to do about the deer population that will explode in "corn" states like IA, PA, IL, etc if he makes it too expensive to even hunt...even more rising food prices and ethanol prices will shoot up as well...in addition to the crime rates that will skyrocket beyond control.

I really hope for his sake that this isn't true....

Senator Barack Obama's Ten Point Plan to "Change" the Second Amenment: I'm no fan of Obama's, but this seems to be stretching the truth. So, my take on it is:
1) Ban use of firearms for home defense.
2) Pass Federal laws eliminating your Right To Carry.Probably not. This would probably require changing the constitution.
3) Ban the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns. I haven't heard anything new about this one in a while.
4) Close down 90% of the gun shops in America. ATFE has been trying to limit the number of gun shops for years. This is not new.
5) Ban rifle ammunition commonly used for hunting andsport shooting. ATFE again. Armor piercing: if it will go through a vest = AP = almost all center-fire rifle ammunition.
6) Increase federal taxes on guns and ammunition by 500%. Various congresspersons have floated 1000% tax on guns and ammunition.
7) Restore voting rights for five million criminals including those who have been convicted of using a gun to commit a violent crime. Nothing to do with gun rights. The Dems just see 5 million more dem voters.
8) Expand the Clinton semi-auto ban to include millions more firearms. You mean "Re-pass and expand"; again, Dems have been re-introducing this turd sandwich every year since it expired the first time.
9) Mandate a government-issued license to purchase a firearm. See 1 and 2
10) Appoint judges to the U.S. Supreme Court and Federal judiciary who share his views on the Second Amendment.
This has more to do with judicial activists then gun control. Gun control is just(another) one of the unpleasant side effects of the type of judges Democrats favor.

These are policies Democrats and the far left have championed for decades. There's nothing new about any of it. Anyone who owns and shoots guns already knows it.

I'm with igotanxj. If this is his stated policy, I'd like to see a source. He's pretty slick (not as slick as Slick, but slippery) and I can't imagine anyone around him even hinting at anything like this.

Actually, with him being a constitutional laywer he does believe in the 2nd but also recognizes the rights of the states to manage gun laws. And since most gun laws are state based, I would worry more about how your governor feels about guns than a presidential candidate.

Keep in mind the 2008 election will determine who controls:

U.S. participation in the anti-gun United Nations;
Appointments to the federal courts, including the critical U.S. Supreme Court;
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives;
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), which the Brady Campaign now insists should ban firearms in every place of employment in America;
The Department of State, which could give credence and funding to the world gun-ban efforts of Rebecca Peters’ International Action Network on Small Arms (IANSA). The State Department could negotiate a U.N. global gun-ban treaty that would violate American sovereignty;
The U.S. Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management, which could force huge changes on hunters and gun owners;
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, which today is being petitioned to ban lead bullets for hunting, even in the ubiquitous .22 rimfire;
The Environmental Protection Agency, which could conceivably close down shooting ranges throughout the country.

I don't believe he is Muslim. Do you have a source for this?

People like me? You mean people who think for themselves and have not been brainwashed by some liberal hippy pot smoking professor in college? Someone who actually has a life and does not need his government to hold his hand and wipe his butt; someone who believes America's citizens should be armed for their personal protection; someone who believes that his government should not have its hands tied when it comes to busting terrorist and fighting crime; someone that has a day job, pays his taxes honestly, and believes in an honest days pay for an honest days work; someone who does not take hand outs, but does extend his hand to those in need? Please tell me what you think is wrong with people like me, I would love to hear all about it.

I voted for president Bush. I'm a Conservative God fearing Republican. I like president Bush and think he is doing a fine job cleaning up eight years of mess his predecessor made. I still serve the United states of America, and I do not cower to political pressure, nor am I intimidated by the liberal left and their socialist agenda, and I vote.

Facts are facts my friend, you don't like the truth about your candidate, then I suggest you find another and stop fouling the air with your bad breath.

I really get a kick out of the political bickering. For the past 16 years I have listened (and read) about how bad President Clinton was for the country by the same folks who can't take just seven years of criticism about the current administration.

Let's review the last seven. We got the (un) Patriot Act. Even with billions into the Dept of Homeland Security the southern border is just as or even more porous, we are in danger of losing more of our sovereignty as the MEX-Can Free Trade corridor highway inches closer to reality, the economy tanked, oil prices up, any more?

Facts are facts my friend, you don't like the truth about the candidate you (and I) help elect, then I suggest you stop fouling the air with your bad breath.

Here is a reality check for you...House Speaker Nancy Pelosi swept into the Capitol with an agenda to bring the troops home from Iraq two years ago, did it happen...NO! Why? Because she did not have enough support and neither will any attempt to change the Constitution...does ERA ring a bell?

Keep believing the propaganda you are being fed by the NRA (I used to be a member but decided they were fear mongerers) same music, different lyrics than what the left has going on. I'll keep my mind open and think for myself.

see you in Moab.

Well, he says he's not a Muslin anymore, but his father was a Muslim and he was schooled in Indonesia in a Muslim school. And, he hung around with Louis Farakan. And if he's a Christian, its a Black Liberation Christian, you know, the "hate whitey" branch of Christianity. Hey, wait a minute, I think I'd trust him more as a Muslim than a Black Liberation Christian.

I'm with ya DWK. For all the things I don't like about Obama, I'm worried McCain will just be Bush's 3rd term.

Soooo, I probably won't vote this year.

I'm not worried about Obama's religion and I'm sure he is a fine upstanding person who has served his State well. However, he is a candidate from one of the most gun controlled States in the Union, Illinois. I don't expect him to do anything but try and get guns banned everwhere.

I also don't like the fact that he spends as much time in Europe campaigning as he does campaigning at home. WTH, those folks aren't going to vote for him.

Both he and McCain are constantly flip flopping around on the issues, but atleast McCain knows what side of the bread the butter is on. He stays at home campaigning with the folks who can vote for him. I don't have an issue with his politics, I have a problem with his age.

As far as GW Bush and Bill Clinton. Clinton left us with more restrictions on our environment (inpart because of Gore), but a budget surplus. He was generally articulate, friendly, and well liked. He was a party animal and we all chuckled about him getting his dick stain on his assistant's dress and his resulting marital problems. It made him human to us.

Bush on the other hand, has dialed back some of those restrictions, but has given us, the NFS road inventory problem, more gun control, a war (actually 2 wars), the Patriot act, searches at airports, world unpopularity, a deficit we have not seen for years, is a total idiot when it comes to public speaking, and is droll beyond belief. Every time I hear a speach by GW I just want to hang my head and cry in shame. I didn't vote for him the first time, and the only reason I voted for him the second time is because I figure he should finish what he started in Afganastan and Iraq. Besides, the other candidate didn't seem much better.

We can round up Falwell and his supporters too for all I care.

My parents' parents' parents' parents' parents' parents' (It probably keeps going too) were born on US soil. I could give a rats ass if we round up all of the visiting Arabs in this country, if for nothing else, questioning.

Its not stereotyping when you realize the 19 9/11 terrorists all looked the same....and came from the same part of the world....

I personally don't believe our Constitution should apply to you if you're not a US Citizen....if you come here to visit, you should be handed a list of "the rules and consequences", along with a disclaimer - "If you act out of place, you will be dealt with properly".

Well, rounding "them" all up without cause is one approach. The problem I find with that theory is you alienate our best sources of intelligence concerning domestic terrorism, both citizen and non-citizen, by not giving them any recourse.

Example being, you have a guy who probably isn't the biggest fan of America living here, he attends a pretty radical Mosque with these guys who invited them into their group which is connected to Al Qaeda. While our subject isn't a fan of US foreign policy he's not down with smoking a bunch of innocent civilians.

This could go one of two ways: The US roles every Muslim looking person up and throws them into holding. Now this guy who's on the fence is away from his family and pissed. The other way this goes is he doesn't get wrapped up and starts talking yielding valuable intelligence that allows us to paint the big picture and spread a wider but more accurate net.

Oh, and the problem with profiling is that our enemies adapt. It's the signature block for terrorists. We figure out how the do something so they change the way they do it. Look at Al Qaeda in Iraq recently. We got really good at identifying suicide bombers. I won't say how we did. But what did they do? Start using women and the retarded. As distasteful as it is, it's effective. Now, you start profiling every Arab-looking person that enters an airport, what do you think Al Qaeda will do?

Of course, what do I know?

Citizen or not, this guy, his family, and anyone he's associate with....round 'em up.

(BTW, yeah, it was tried before, but we had a terrible intelligence network in the 40s...it would go much better now - and now, we're fighting a different kind of war, so whether or not it worked in the past is a moot point)

EDIT: And yes, I realize the reason this guy hasn't been rounded up is because he's probably being used as bait, and has tons of surveillence all over him....but still....he's a f*cking douchebag who shouldn't be in the country to begin with....

:gag:

I thought he was talking about "our little camps" out in the eastern Sierra's...the camps that produced the 442nd RCT...you know the guys who took 800 casualties to rescue 211 Texans of the 141st.

"For their performance, the 442nd has been recognized as the most decorated unit in United States history. 18,000 total awards were bestowed upon the 442nd, including 9,500 Purple Hearts, 52 Distinguished Service Crosses, Seven Distinguished Unit Citations, but only one Congressional Medal of Honor (Crost, Honor by Fire. 179)."

Actually two, the Honorable Dan Innouye was presented with a Medal of Honor for his actions.

Regardless....we're talking about apples and oranges here. I'm referring to rounding up people who do not belong here - people who are not US citizens - and while we're at it, reforming the rule "oh I was born here, so that makes me a US citizen...pay no mind to the fact that my parents are not US citizens and are either 'visiting' or here illegally"...

but thats for a different thread...
