8.25 4x4 driveshaft length

very simple. I need to know what the length of a factory 8.25 driveshaft is from center ujoint cap to cennter ujoint cap. must be from a 4 wheel drive model. I put an 8.25 in my 89 that had an D35 and I feel that the D35 shaft that I am still currently using could be a bit to long still even on the 4.5" that I am lifted. So I just need the length of a 8.25 rear drive shaft as stated above. Thank you

Measured from the center of each u-joint on the tube part of the driveshaft for 4.0L with AW4 and NP231.


29 spline 8.25 .... 27 7/8"
97 + D35 .......... 28 7/8"
1987 XJ D44 ...... 29 5/8"

I just measured mine for a different thread and it's 29 5/8" for my 92 4.0 auto 231 with 8.25.

I was running an 8.25 out of an 01 xj with my stock d35 ds on my 95. worked great up until i removed it for a SYE.
