I was impressed in January when I was down duck hunting the Rio between Ft. Hancock and Fabens. Border Patrol trucks parked far enough away they could see the next agent. We had 4 or 5 swarm us after we parked. The first one drove up and saw what we were up to. My buddy says, "Usually I see you guys all over...are you the only one today?" He says with a grin, "Nah, the rest are coming." All of 'em pulled up, waved, and drove off. Last guy to pull out stops and says, "Big flock of mallards and mexican ducks on the water about a quarter mile downstream. Have to park a little ways back to get the jump on 'em." :D

Nice fellas. It was a LOT different than when I was down there 9 years ago...

Oh don't get me wrong they are out there. The wife and I were out one day in the desert to check out Kilborn Hole, out side of Las Cruses, and we got stopped. I guess they don't see to many honkeys out in the middle of the desert with PA tags, lol.
Couple of my neighbors are BP agents all good guys.

As far as border patrol goes, Ive been checked on a time or 2 myself. Not exactly the same border, but they are still out there...

I pat the pocket on my vest loaded with buckshot/slugs and tell 'em, 'We'll be alright'. They usually get a kick outta that. :) It's a habit I got into when we first started hunting the Rio and would see some shady characters on the other side. Talked to the local game warden about it during waterfowling because we were worried about having lead shot. He said we didn't need his permission to defend ourselves and he'd be surprised if someone thought we were actually hunting birds with 4 Buck (in the event we were searched). :yelclap:

The whole story is pretty rediculious. He got back to Mexico, then his cousing is a BP agent in Yuma, AZ who brought it to the attention of the US authorities. Now they are in jail.

Yeah I heard about that. I was totally Fing pissed. One he was a know drug dealer and two they only shot him in the ass. Its not like they tried to kill him( I would have and left his body for coyotes.)

Ok so I am looking like a complete ass. Yes I very much dislike the thought of illegal immigrants and especially those who take advantage this Great Nation that Is America. But I didnt make it seem like I hated all Mexicans. I grew up with and have had and do have many mexican friends and cannot group them all together as the same. Sorrry.
