I know someone out there knows more about wj's than i do (seeing as that i don't know much of anything about them). What should i look out for? Pros? Cons? etc. i need opinions too. Specs: 2000 grand cherokee 4.7L v8 loaded 63,xxx miles. around $8000 without my discount at the stealership. What do you think?

Sounds like a good deal to me.

My brother picked up a '98 w/ 5.9l 102k miles, rebuilt engine (less than 2k miles) rebuilt tranny (30k miles). w/ a 3.5" & 31's for $5,000.

what goes bad with the blend door? the actuator if it's an auto hvac system? or does the door warp or something? id like to know what i'd be getting myself into, dash work isn't my cup of tea....

all I know is that my boss leaves the glove box out when he needs the ac because of issues with the blend door. so between say april and october the glove box stays in the garage. Jeep wanted some mad cash to fix it

I bought my wife a 99 Laredo 4.0 with leather and goodies about 6 years ago.
Issues:
Brakes, the front rotors warp far too easily. I had the dealer do it once, I did the fronts the last time.
Rear Hatch release.
Tweeters in the dash, both of them.
Wallows like a pig, at a minimum stiff shocks, and a new rear sway bar is needed. I bought the better front swaybar, but I've been too lazy to install it. It would be better with it.
Leather has holes in a couple of places.
Less front leg and head room than my 90 2-door XJ.
The big issue, the tranny behind the 4.0's is a piece of shit. Had to replace it at 100k.

On the other hand, the 4.0 is better than in any XJ we test drove before buying the WJ, the 242 transfercase is great, and the mileage is okay compared to my XJ. I enjoy driving it.

I've heard the samw, makes the '97-'01 problem seem cheap to fix!

well, over all sounds like an ok deal. I don't have any problem fixing anything you guys have listed here. I've got to still look at it closer and test drive/inspect it. but i think it'll work out. Thanks!

you will need to either buy the upgrade to akebono calipers and brackets or plan on buying new rotors once a year, most of the 2000s have that problem, the teves calipers warp em pretty bad
