I took the XJ in for a smog a couple weeks ago and heard those dreaded words....GROSS POLLUTER.
They even failed me on the visual for a crushed duct hose going from the exhaust manifold to the front of the air box!!
Man that guy got out the flashlight and magnifying glass and worked her over good after sticking that thing up her tail.
So I drove her on expired plates for a while and hated that nervious feeling every time I saw a cop.
I found that hose at the junkyard, replaced the O2 sensor and had a new cat put on.
I let out a big Woooo Hoooo at the smog place when I learned she passed!!!
Now my mileage has gone from 13.6 the tank full before the O2 sensor to 15.7 and then 16.39
So I rewarded myself for being a law abiding citizen again and being friendly to the environment by ordering up some personalized plates.....any guesses on what I picked??
I can't wait for them to arrive.
Can't those jailbirds make them any faster??
