Someone else besides me finally said it. How many are actually paying attention to this?

There are African Americans, Mexican Americans, Asian Americans, Arab Americans, Native Americans, ect. and then there are just Americans.

You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction. You call me "Whiteboy," "Cracker," "Honkey," "Whitey," "Caveman" and that's OK.

But when I call you, $******, ****,***** ****, **** *** ******, ***** ******, ******, ****, or ***** you call me a racist.

You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you, so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live?

You have the United Negro College Fund.
You have Martin Luther King Day.
You have Black History Month.
You have Cesar Chavez Day.
You have Yom Hashoah
You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi
You have the NAACP.
You have BET.

If we had WET(White Entertainment Television) we'd be racists.
If we had a White Pride Day you would call us racists.
If we had White History Month, we'd be racists.
If we had any organization for only whites to "advance" our lives, we'd be racists.

We have a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a Black Chamber of Commerce, and then we just have the plain Chamber of Commerce.
Wonder who pays for that?

If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships, you know we'd be racists. There are over 60 openly proclaimed Black Colleges in the US, yet if there were "White colleges" that would be a racist college.

In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights. If we marched for our race and rights, you would call us racists.

You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're not afraid to announce it. B ut when we announce our white pride, you call us racists.


There is a Miss America pageant and a Miss Black America pageant but if we had a Miss White America pageant we would be racist.

You rob us, car-jack us, and shoot at us. But, when a white police officer shoots a black gang member or beats up a black drug-dealer running from the law and posing a threat to society, you call him a racist.

Reminds of the episode of "Rescue Me" when the crew has to go to sensitivity training. The guy in charge shows them a video of a white guy who stereotypes a bunch of different people. Besides, I find it more offensive when someone takes pains to try not to offend me than when they just say what's on their mind. At least that way, I know where they stand, and I can work with it from there. I agree with this. People in my book are defined by how they treat others. I believe we have a right to be prejudiced. If I don't like Fords..I ain't buying one. Why should anyone be offended about "Black Expo", NAACP, Black History Channel, etc. These have a purpose in that they help provide a sense of pride and hope to minorities despite the long history discrimination and of being labeled as an inferior race. Maybe the person that wrote the email feels they are missing opportunities to be "successful" because of they do not have these institutions.

Maybe, they should focus on what they have instead and not worry about it.

there were two colleges within the last decade that had a weighted scale for acceptance while judging SAT scores.
the scale was something like
Blacks got +200
Latin American +150
Whites +0-25 depending on the region
Asian -10

these numbers may not be entirely correct, but they are in proportion.

guess who complained. it wasn't the African americans at the school, who were actually being prejudiced against, it was the whites and Asians. the Blacks and hispanics took it as a reward, not a degredation to culture. the radical ones who call everyone racist, should have seen this as a slanderous gesture seeing as though the college was obviously saying all or most blacks and spanish are dumb (or less intelligent than other races) but the whites stood up along with the asians, because they werent being given an equal opportunity to attend college.

I know a guy, born to American parents, in an African country.

He applies for an African-American scholarship.

He get accepted, sight-unseen.

Shows up for school.

Gets called to the Deans office, and asked what he thought he was doing. They didn't accept white people.

Dad comes in, talks with the Dean. The dean maintains his positions. Dad says "I bet he's more African than any of you."

Guy finishes semester, drops out. The terms for the scholarship are changed to read for "black" Americans.

They were actually scientifically proven to be built to be better athletes!

Eventually, this man was forced to apologise under duress of censure and termination - for saying that Blacks were better at something than everyone else.

i think of it more of a meditation, so i dont blow up, i live in an area where there are two types of "minorities" there are those who are decent people, of a different race, and those who conform to the ways of other radical racial extremists like malcom x. They put on the "gangster" persona, but i guarentee half wouldnt last a day in say compton or other such places.
i dont understand why people see the need to try to put blame on others and cause rage and anger, instead of trying to mend together to actually help the racial situation...

I read where a white guy called a black guy a nigga as he beat the shit out of him. So, they classified it as a hate crime. Nope ... this is a typical symptom of discrimination called sterotyping.

Unfortunately for me, I was not afforded the same appology about the movie "White Men Can't Jump", but then I do not have the NAACP or the Rev. Jesse Jackson to fight my battles. I'm scarred, and my family will be for generations ... ;)

"Stereotyping" is classification without basis in fact.

The problem here is that there was scientific proof of the assertion - it wasn't a stereotype, it was a statement of fact, backed up with research and analysis. Therefore, not a stereotype, not an opinion.

So, why force an apology for someone saying that someone is better at something, and offering proof of that factoid? Why should the population being put forward demand an apology?

Jesse Jackson and Kweisi Mfume are probably the biggest factors working against race equity in America to-day...

It would be difficult for me to make a judgement on the statement by the professor. Similar to reading a post here, there is a lot left out including what was said before and after the statement, tone, context, and purpose of the statement. As you quoted him, he said "Blacks are built, via evolution, to excel all other races in track & field events ...". This is a generalization that insinuates all Blacks have this characteristic. This is not a fact because I have met some Blacks are are not as athletic as I am (which is not very to say the least). ;)

It would be difficult for me to make a judgement on the statement by the professor. Similar to reading a post here, there is a lot left out including what was said before and after the statement, tone, context, and purpose of the statement. As you quoted him, he said "Blacks are built, via evolution, to excel all other races in track & field events ...". This is a generalization that insinuates all Blacks have this characteristic. This is not a fact because I have met some Blacks are are not as athletic as I am (which is not very to say the least). ;)

even though i have black friends and realize there still are alot of racist "whiteys" in the world, i always remind them that the there were white slaves as well. The irish were pitted, alot of times, against the african slaves on work sites. The racist slurs and propaganda only served to make both sides work harder to "out do" the other and therefore declare themselves superior. There were even orphans and other 'undesirables' picked up off the streets of England and shipped over to be 'indentured' servants. The word slave is derived from slav, which doesn't refer to a historically, 'black' or 'african' people. In fact, i think about every race of people have been made slaves at one point in history or another. Not to mention, i don't believe white slave traders were running amuck in Africa 'stealing' black folks........no, no, no,......blacks were sold to slave traders on the coast, by other black tribesmen.
All that being said, i don't have a problem with minorities being afforded opportunities in a place where many elitist/classist/racist people still control everything, or most everything. However, ignorance shouldn't be celebrated or honored as 'prideful' either.

Actually I met Demo Dickie at a book signing. Hell of a nice guy. More mellow than you'd think. Not only signed every book I brought (about 6) but signed something different in each one, then posed for a picture. Wouldn't leave until he saw and met everyone that showed up. Was supposed to be there for 90 minutes and stayed for 6 hours.

It wa so weird seing him within about an hour after 9-11 on TV as one of the first anti-terrorist experts they called, not some media commentator.

In typical Rogue fashion, he dismantled our lame response and proceded to say what we really needed to do to beef up security. I tell you, that's one guy I'd like to see running something like Homeland Security. I guaran-god-damn-tee you the airports would be safe.

However, if you've ever read any of his books, you'll know he's no politician.

The SS said "we don't drill" our procedures are solid. He proceded to not only stage a success mock take over of AF1 but also killed President Reagan several different ways. Needless to say, you don't emabarass the SS like that.

As I recall, he also did a serious number to the SS at Camp David, shortly after getting SEAL SIX off the ground. I haven't had a chance to have a "live" exchange with him, but I've also read all of his books, fiction and non.

Yeah, I'd like to see him running DHS - or even see DHS adopt the Israeli model for "Airline Security." Anything's got to be better than what we're doing now - it's not even farcical enough to be classified as "bad comedy."

Don't forget - the Navy was also pissed at him for embarrassing a LOT of installation commanders (another legacy of SEAL SIX) and ended up spending something like $60M to "prove" that he managed to take something like a few thousand, for which he ultimately spent a year in the stir. Seems to me, with the work he was doing, if he was inclined to steal something, he'd have gotten something big, so it already sounds like bogon emissions...
