I can't make Fall Fling so I am thinking about going during Thanksgiving or between X-Mas and New Years. Any suggestions? I am concerned about the weather interfering with running trails. Thanks in advance for the help.

I've gone a couple of times over Thanksgiving and loved it. Crowds were down, weather was cool and mild (a little rain one year but not bad) and no long lines at the restaurants. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. :)

X2. It is my favorite time of year there.
It can snow pretty good in the winter though.

Since the wife and I are missing the fall fling as well, I might be able to convince her of a trip down there around that time, but we will have to see after our trip how the walet is feeling. Keep me updated on your plans and we might just tag a long.:yelclap:

THEE, bar none, best trip I have had in Moab was one of our Thanksgiving runs, weather was OK, but we got caught Just after Skyline drive, barley got through the narrows, in a HUGE thunderstorm, we sat on some slickrock and waited it out, I have never seen a more spectacular sight as having 8-10 feet of flash flooding, and the number of waterfalls rushing around us that afternoon!
Never get tired of looking at those pictures..

I know what you mean. I was on the rim one evening during EJS 2005 when the heavens opened up. Even thou I was soaked to the bone and freezing cold, I was amazed at how many waterfalls there were in that canyon. None of the pics I took turned out very good, oh well.
I'd be interested in going down, keep us updated.

So far looks like Thanksgiving! I will keep you guys posted. It would be nice to meet some of you and do some trails. I have only been to Moab once and that was in my Ranger. :D
