does a bad map sensor result in bad mpgs?
I am still trying to improve my mpgs.
replaced O2 sensors, leads, cap, rotor, plugs and just found the ccv hose has a slight leak but dont think that would be the cause?
so i am now thinking a bad map possibly?
any ideas?

I suppose an out of range MAP could result in bad gas mileage. The MAP tells the computer the degree of load placed on the engine, allowing the computer to decide how much fuel to inject. Other sensors also affect how much fuel is injected as well; the temp sensors tell the computer if the fuel mixture needs to be leaned or richened, based on engine temp. An old hot-rod trick to richen your mixture is to place a fixed resistor in place of the water temp sensor. An out of bounds sensor could have the same affect. You could look at the water temp sensor as the modern-day choke; cold engine=rich mixture, leaning out as the engine warms up.
