Sure did, lol, drove it to work like that today too, all the way to Annicostia and back not a problem! I am actually about to order this new steering setup (http://www.bulletproofsteering.com/jeeppricingoptions.html) because I don't have the tools to make my own. =( This is gonna hurt the pocket a bit.

I was looking at those too Nick, but I ended up going with the JCR setup to save some cash.

but you're gonna end up spending the same as I will with the one ton upgrade that JCR has. Gosh that reamer is expensive! I'd go with that, but with what I'm going with, it'll be over the knuckle, and the angles will be better because its....well, higher on the knuckle and they'll bend any rod to fix extreme angles....for 89 bucks a bend. yeah right, I've got a bender that i can use to bend some angles in it, so that's gonna save me a few bucks.

Ok, here is what I just ordered. I said screw the bullet proof guys and went with Searchers 4wd (http://www.searchers4wd.com/home.htm). The guys there were super easy to work with and are going to put the bends in the tube that I need for free. It looks something similar to this.....Super excited to be getting it and after shipping and all, it's only running me $330.

Both the tie rod and drag clearanced out in front of the axle tube, diff cover and sway bar links so that I'll have no issues. Super sweetness IMO.

I'll keep one cold for you for the end of the day. Are you planning on camping or only day trippin'? The kids and I'll be spending the weekend. Getting in Saturday and not leaving 'til Chris and Heather throw us out Sunday. :)

I'll be towing the XJ in so I don't have to be gentle. If you break I can tug you home with the Cummins. ;)

Hopefully towing myself home will be by choice and not need.

Well, I'm kinda bummed, I just got the word from Martin that he won't be done with the sliders until next week. I'll still go, but only with steering. What time on saturday are you planning on being out there?

Oh, does randy have any sticks that could weld to cast?

We plan on heading out about 6:30 from our place so we should be there around 8:00 or so.

Drop Randy an email, I'm not sure what rods he's got for the big welder. He may just have them or you could probably pick some up at TSC on the way out.

If the parts come in, I might have to bother Randy before I head out there. I'll shoot him an email and see what he's willing to put up with. =)

Where are some places to go near Richmond Va??

The closest place to Richmond would be crozet, then shoe creek/big levels. If you go to crozet, you better bring armor.

BTW Nick, I love that steering. I have to drill out the knuckels for mine, nice find!

Armor is over rated!! You don't need no stinkin armor! Yeah, I'm pretty stoked about the steering Mike. Just get that instead of the JCR stuff. I called the owner and he's gonna modify it a bit for me for free. He's going to put a bend in the top near the pitman arm to fix the angles on the Heims and then another at the bottom. Its a pretty sweet set up and super thick. I think it was 1.5" tube with .25" walls. Don't think I'll have a problem bending that, but hey, who knows!
