I take it they were just firing dart rounds, non explosives? some lucky SOB's right there, overseas they would have been one more 'mistaken identity' pilot errors that ended badly.

Is the Navy Safety Center like Army Intelligence? They are oxymorons. That SUV was pretty shot up. Wanna buy it and drive it just like that. No repairs. Looks like a serious drive by. ROFLMAO.

Damn, multi million dollar aircraft, 20MM cannon, and the vehicle is still more or less there.....

Marines Would have made it little bitty tiny pieces of scrap metal, burned to a crisp with 20 bucks worth of ammo and whatever else they could get their hands on.

More or less or less with more. I suppose im a bit biased, but the air force sure costs a lot to run for such little action. But their women are sometimes cute >:)

The real cool thing is, those holes HAD to be training rounds! HE or HEI would have set the rig on fire. Fist sized holes caused by a non expanding projectile the size of your thumb. Wowch!!

That was the Air Force and it happened here in Utah. It was pretty big news here for awhile.

That's cool, so Marines never use close air support? They're more hardcore than I thought. :)

Sure they would, but usually from a slow mover (Helo)
I meant thats very little damage coming from a dang fighter jet.
Considering how much it costs. Givin em a jab in the ribs, nothing more.
The air force has their purposes, just like the navy, SOMEONES' gotta taxi Marines to the battlezone. :)
And the air force brings in chow and bullets. And shoots little ol holes in chevys

Good to hear you're not THAT far into the clouds. ;)

They're not going to train with explosive stuff so much, they just have to hit the targets they're aiming for. Explosive rounds are for battlefield use. :scottm:

Not to knock the marines(Yes, I can if I have to, 'Ex army and dad was Navy) but:

If all you think the Chair Force is good for is punching little holes in stuff, watch video of an A-10 on a run. Better yet, be on the ground anywhere nearby. I've only seen them once. "Gods impact wrench." Most accurate description I've ever heard,...

"It is very easy to be blinded to the essential uselessness of them by the sense of achievement you get from getting them to work at all.
In other words - and this is the rock-solid principle on which the whole of the Corporation's Galaxywide success is founded - their fundamental design flaws are completely hidden by their superficial design flaws."

Is that hitchhikers guide in your sigline^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^?

Sure sounds like a description of the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation to me - the wonderful guys who brought us the Nutri-Matic machine, and whose complaints department covers all the major landmasses of three planets and is the only division to have shown a profit in recent years...

We've got our own jets if we need fighter support...:D
And as has already been said, if it were a battle zone, that truck wouldn't have survived. It woulda blowed up. The Navy can launch HE VW Bugs 40 something miles inland if I'm not mistaken, the Air Force has Puff the Magic Dragon and A-10s, the Army is great for occupying areas and bringing mass firepower. We Marines, we're good for clearing the way for others to get their foothold to fight from. ;)

tbburg: You can't knock the Marines...you're Army...;);)

Q: Why does the Navy keep Marines abord ship?

20mm cannon, mistaken identity, pilot rolled into his strafing run and then shot someone not in his target area...still kinda funny, but good thing no one was killed as a result of the error.
