Haha, yea, they did, one big ass envelope. I've thought about going paperless, just for less hassle, and less things to throw away, but I stay in it just to spite those damn tree huggers.

As for the usage, I'm with you, I really don't like staying on the phone very long, plus my job doesn't afford me that convenience all the time, I need to be able to talk on the radio, listen to other things, and talk to people when I need. But I drive 12 hours a night so it gets boring lol.

WTF?

Last time I saw a phone bill like that, it was for a whole company!

I just can't fathom how one person can spend that much time on the damned phone. I like to answer my phone at home by throwing hammers at it until it shuts up...

(I used to dislike phones. Then, I worked in IT/Telecom for a year and a half. Now the hatred is almost pathological, and probably incurable...)

I seriously go through withdrawals without communication of some sort.

Not me - there are times when I like to fall off the face of the Earth for a few days. Kinda relaxes me and helps get my head together, y'know?

Hey - whatever blows your skirt up. This whole "plugged in" generation just baffles me. I mean - what's an eight-year-old kid need with a cellphone for?

I agree with the 8 year old thing, IF I were to have children, which I'm not, there's no way in hell I'd give them a cell phone, OR a myspace. I was young enough and old enough at the same time to experience them to their fullest. NEVER.

Not a bad bill for the encyclopedia that it is.....

Our house phone is running around a hundred bucks a month, that includes DSL and long distance.

Her cell bill is around 50 bucks a month. Since the house in a a dead zone, we use the house phone more than the cell. That will all chaneg at the end of August once we move, then we will be using cells and only keeping the DSL service....

The most I've ever sent was 1700 when my wife and I were first dating.

Wow, I used about 50 minutes last month(I spent some time out of town) and had 2 text messages. 1 from my boss, and 1 to my boss asking him to never send me another text message.

I hate texting, if you need to tell me something pick up the damn phone and call or better yet, stop by.

Easy solution - tell your provider to disable texting on your 'phone. You may have to be insistent - I know I did (Sprint.)

I've tried once... I need to stop being lazy and try again.

I'd like to get rid of my cell phone altogether, but the wife won't let me.

I use to be against texting and was one of those pick up and call people, then I realized the value of being able to communicate with someone you dont want to talk to.

While I do agree, there are times where texting comes in very handy. For example when i'm in and out of class all day and need to tell a friend something, or they need to tell me something...a quick and quiet text message works great, vs. having the phone go off in the middle of class.

I hate talking to people... I text about 1500 a month on average. That why I hate it when I hear my phone ring, and see the name "Tiny Tim" on the screen.

Whats texting :D

Nobody texts me, thats the biggest racket the telco has, takes less resources then a regular phone call and they charge you for it, screw them. I'm up to $161.00 a month for 4 phones/1500 minutes, daughter has unlimited for $5 a month but she actually uses it.
The taxes really piss me off.
I will say one thing, I have not written a paper check in about 2 years, everything gets done online, paid with amex then amex paid from one account, saves me about $5 a month in stamps and a really small paper trail that I can check in about 5 minutes.

I have a friend who had over 10,000 texts in a month. She was constantly typing on that thing. I don't understand how she did it, 1 message in or out less than every 4.5 minutes, around the clock.

The most I did was 530 or something.

And I hate when I see the name "Sasquatch" on my phone show up on a new text message after i've asked people to cut back on sending me them so I dont go way over on my bill again.....

I got a text about 4 years ago(6 Mo. after I got the phone) It was a advert from Verizon. As I didn't have texting as part of my package, they charged me $0.10 for the honor of reading it. I had a chat with with them, and the charge was removed. About 2 weeks later, another ad text. Another chat. This time I just walked into the nearest Verizon store, explained the problem and requested that texting be disabled on my phone. The store manager looked shocked that I could want such a thing, but was happy(?) to comply (probably since I was standing in his store, right across the counter from him)

Most of my friends are still pissed at me for this.

Last Thanksgiving, 2 friends went out for 5 days north of Phoenix. You could tell each time we went out and back into Cell range. Both jeeps had to stop so they could check/reply to multi- messages from wives that had built up while we were out of range. I think they pay extra for this service. We would repeat this little fiasco 6 or 7 times a day.

You can keep the phone book sized bill.
