Thanks, the tires are small, 30X9.50's on a 3.5" full traction lift up front. 3.5" BS on a 7" wide wheel.

It's cause they are!! 30's baby!!!!! However I've got brand new 33's and everything for about 6" or so sitting here without a SYE :(

The fenders set me back right around $400 with tax. Also take a loot at hanneman, they've got a set for about $100 less, that they call a 3" flare, but I'm not sure if they're much smaller.

I had major fitment issues with these when I got them, and ended up taking them back to Tim at glassworks to have them fitted, luckily I'm local.

You gonna paint the rest of the XJ to match the fenders?

:D

Haha, negative ghostrider... Hopefully they'll be painted soon, cash flow is an issue though :P

Here's what the Henneman looks like..

Hit up your local automotive paint supply with your paint code. They will mix you up some arisol cans to match your factory color.. Pick up some clear coat as well.. Don't forget to use some filler on the cracks that will start showing up soon.. Most glass fenders tend to get surface cracks after they've been in the sun..

Hanneman also makes some 3" flare ones that keep the body lines, not just the flat top fenders.

Which if you were wondering by the way is...PU7, that's my favorite color they ever produced XJs in.

Jim is your jeep going to turn into a jeepspeed build or a desert racer of some kind? Otherwise I dont see the point of spending money for a set of fiberglass flares that will be damaged if you hit rocks or flop. Just my opinion, but on the otherhand I think that they do look pretty sweet.

We're REALLY going to have to organize a Glamis trip man. I've been having withdrawals since I sold my bikes.

my hannemans. I want those glassworks enders for my dd though. How was the fit and finish? did they need much primer to get them smooth?
How much was shipping or did you pick them up? I got hosed for shipping and crating my fenders. I paid $140 to get them from cali to my house in Utah. $30 of that total was crating... The crate was a cardboard box a little bit bigger then my corbeau seat box(that got shipped free!!). The box came with a huge hole in it and the fenders took a ton of paint and sanding to just get the deep gouges out..:(

I picked them up, so didn't have to worry about shipping, only CA tax. When I got them, the fit and finish was HORRIBLE you can read about it here;

I ended up taking my Jeep back to glassworks and they reworked them for me, looks like they had to do a decent amount of cutting.

I keep going back and forth because I want a set, I like the way they look, but this very thinking is why I have not got a set.
Too many situations like this.

I have a buddy that Crawls his XJ With Glass fenders and he is always worried about messing them up.. The best solution would be to use Dutz fastners and remove the fenders before you go Rockin and re install them for desert running/street driving.. It would be a pain in the arse to have to do this tho..

Now that I have a truck too, I'm going to focus more of the dsert stuff that direction. Keep the jeep where it does best for me. :)
