I am debating on stripping the copper vent pipes and some of the other copper pipe from my new house....
I figure I could get a lot of $$ for the copper and replace it with PVC and PEX.
Any drawbacks to doing this?
Anyone get good deals on PEX supply's?

I know it's temping but the copper vent and drain lines aren't worth as much as you think. They are called Drain, Waste, & Vent (DWV) in the trade and aren't as valuable as copper water supply lines or copper wiring.

You should also use ABS instead of PVC to replace the DWV parts. Are you already ripping some walls apart or what? It could easily cost more than the pipe is worth to repair the drywall damage.

you have clean and dirty cost when taking in copper and odds are unless it is really clean looking your going to get the lower end of the trade in for copper.

lol walls are all open....An I am installing a PEX manifold system and am relocating most of the drains off the main vent/waste...I will just pull the water lines and put in PEX. I did just get my electrical service upgraded to 200amp and have 60-70 ft of 2awg wire now...not fine stranded but can I use it for a dual battery in the jeep?
I still need a a Pex supplyer as well
Looking for 600' of tube and a 36 port Manabloc manifold + fittings and crimping tools...

Sting -
I can hook you up with the PEX goodies. We sell the 1/2" in 500' rolls, got the 36port MB's in stock.

I'm on baby watch this weekend (#3!), so I might not be around the first part of next week, but you can pm me if you need the stuff soon, and I'll call the shop and let them know you're coming down.
