Today I was installing a new stereo amp. My power wire comes from one of the “pwr accessory slots” in the fuse box. Being an idiot today, I didn’t remove the wire from the accessory slot before installing the new amp. So, the live power wire touched my ground. There was a spark, and now my stereo isn’t getting power. No dome light, no clock. I checked all my fuses, and they’re all okay. The under the hood fuses are all ok too.

I suppose the power wire should have a fuse in it in the future….

I haven’t done much electrical, now I’m going to learn……..

I searched for awhile without any luck. Where do I start with this thing?

Thanks in Advance!

I guarauntee you blew a fuse. All the stuff you list usually runs off the same fuse, usually in the interior fuse box. I don't know about Jeeps specifically (this is general automotive knowledge), but what you're describing screams blown fuse. Double-check, you probably missed something.

It's a '91.

I'll go have another look. Are there fuses somewhere other than the interior fuse box or the engine bay box? Are there inline fuses somewhere?

Yes, it was a 10 amp fuse! I missed it the first 3 times, it broke in a funny way!
Thanks guys, sorry for the lame question!

quick burn will just leave a small break. as an overload will melt the fuse. common mistake.
