A guy I wheel with from out that way in a TJ with a Front 30 most likely needs a rebuild. ANY CLOSE shops that can do a quick GOOD job replacing pinion bearings and seals???

Thanks guys,

Thanks guys,

There is a place in Schererville called Atlas Transmission that I know many people swear by and have had great experiances with. I am not sure if they only do trans or if they will work on the pumpkins also. Worth a call if you friend is near there.

He's too far actually. He's in Schererville. He has it at a shop suggested by another NAXJA member now and he did lose his pinion bearing. (Atlas, thanks Blackcat) He's hoping it didn't trash the pinion and ring gear but that's a slim possibility. Too bad as he had it set up about 18 months ago with 4.56's and OX lockers. Perhaps the original job wasn't kosher.

Thanks for the info, it's nice to know the NAXJA brotherhood will still help out old members even if they don't have XJ's anymore. (me)

No problem, glad I could help- I take it he also had a good experiance with them (as far as getting told bad news and you have to spend money goes)? I like to hear as many experiances as possible to see if companies are keeping up thier reputations.
