factory gearing

what factory configuration of xj came the lowest gears, did the 4 banger manual come with 4.10s and ive heard of some coming with 4.56s

i would think the 4 cyl auto would have the lowest gears (usually 4.10's i think). and i have seen one post on one of the jeep boards where the poster claimed he had scored a 4.56 geard factory axle from a junk yard out of an xj. but beyond that, that's all the info i know of

4 cyl came with 4.10s
ax5 (or any auto) 3.55
ax15 (manual) 3.07

and im not sure but i think the xj44s came with 3.54 but dont quote me on that (3.54 will work fine with 3.55 up front)

2.5L with an AW4 came with 4.56's. I have the D35 & Prepmech has the D30. First & only one I have seen with this combo. JIM.
