AW4 - automatic transmission

Hi,

I have Jeep Cherokee 4x4 1989 4.0 l limited version. 190000 Miles.
I haven't had any problem with my transmission, but recently I noticed that when I start driving ( engine is quite underloaded - quite fast starting) and I hold my hand on the transmission lever I feel some vibration for a moment and later everything is OK - it is just first gear I guess - Maybe something is wearing out .
Soon it is time to change my transmission oil and filter and I will take off the transmission cover.

So tell me what I should check or how I could test my transmission to diagnose it.

I would suspect a bad u-joint not the transmission

Or bad motor mounts or tranny mount. Not unusual for an 89 with 190k miles.
