hey guys im a newbie to jeeps but not to wheeling. i just bought my first jeep its an 85 w 4.5" Rough Country lift and 32x11.50x15 tsl's on it it currently has the very weak 2.8 that will barely run. but i have started on a motor swap that i have not seen very many of. I am swapping in a 318 bored .040 over w/fastburn heads(semi-hemi) and its a factory 4-barrell. i know there will need to be ALOT of fab work but im up for the challange. i picked the jeep up for $1200 with 6 brand new tires.

and as far as my other rig ( i know its not an xj but its my pride and joy) ita a 98 ram with 36"s + of custom built lift, on 2 1/2 ton rockwell axles, np202 t-case, built 440 big block, 727 trans, with full hydraulic steering, on 49" iroks which are way to small for the truck now.

i would pull the flares off now and cut them before you rhino line. you'll probabally end up needing to trim anyways. nice ram btw, xj's are a whole different animal though. it'll require some thinking outside the box for you i think. good luck nice start

Welcome to the XJ family. It will be fun for some of us to live through your modifications of the XJ. Keep them pictures coming.

and finally a little bit of work done. i have been really busy helping my friends get their projects done. not its time for mine. here are a few pics of the motor i built for the jeep. Enjoy......
