Today I got started at about 4pm on the rear main/oil filter O-rings, trying to plug a few leaks. The pan was such a PITA to remove that I ended up dropping the front axle nearly all the way off, so I decided to toss my new springs in and lift it while I was at it. And replace the lower control arms. And shocks. And motor mounts. While it's all torn apart, I'll be able to get a good look at why the steering has been intermitantly sloppy also.

Wow, I sure hope I get this stupid thing back together before I leave for work at 7am next tuesday. I have to work 10 hours tomorrow so not much will get done tomorrow night.

Anyway, I'll finally have a lift- only about 3", but that's pretty good considering it started as a rear main leak :D

Thanks to Spencer (PassXJ) for the rear springs and LCAs. I'll try to get them cleaned up and painted early Saturday, maybe on sometime Monday.

No finished pics yet, I have quite a bit still to do on monday, I was really hoping to take some time in the mountains sunday and monday, but I'll still be under the Jeep instead.

For some reason I can't get one last bolt to thread in on the rear springs, I have to reattach the track bar and a few other small items and get the new rear shocks on. I got new shocks and for the rears I used a part # for the Commanche as per rocklizard's website, but the mount shaft on my axle is ever so slightly larger than the bushing in the shock, so I'm having to work it over a bit to get things together. Other than that the rear main and o-ring replacement went well, considering what a crappy job that is. I can't belive how much easier it is to work under it with another 3 1/2 inches of space!
