I have a 1990 Jeep Cherokee Limited, and it starts but doesn't stay running, and floods out, I've talked to a jeep dealer and was told that it may be the crank sensor, and or map sensor, so I replaced both, and still same thing. If anyone has any ideas, please drop me a line, this is my only way of transportation now that my Honda blew up last weekend.:repair:

The IAC is possibly all gummed up, or the MAP vacuum tubing is broken or plugged up to the wrong outlet on the TB. The wiring between the MAP and the ECU is screwed up at some point. Your ignition is screwed up and has a really weak spark. The EGR is hung open or the EGR solenoid wiring or the solenoid itself is messed up (it defaults open). The wiring to your CPS has a lot of resistance or is cooking on the exhaust. I've heard guys say a messed up sync (or cam position) sensor can cause this under certain circumstances, though I've never seen it myself.
Does it run at higher RPM's or just stalls out at idle or low RPM's?

i did a test on my 90 by accident. i plugged a live vacuum line into my egr valve. well it started fine. but soon after it died. are you getting any smoke. being that "rich" would definitely give black smoke. your egr may be stuck closed.
