I just got a R.E. hack & tap for my 242. I would like to run a front ds from a aw4 xj I thought I read some where about a adapter from napa that adaps the 4 bolt flange to the yoke dose anyone know the part number or the page it was off of thanks!

All the Hack and Tap using an XJ front drive shaft threads I have read also note that the Cherokee has been lifted. IDK if a lift is required or not to use the front drive shaft in the rear.

The part you are looking for is a Spicer 211229x. NAPA part # 2600627. The local drive line shop had the Spicer part in stock.

This H&T mod has been working well for me with 3.5" of lift, Chry 8.25, NP-231, AW4.

Dont need to have a lift to use it. I didnt need the hack and tap till I passed 4", but I was very glad I got it. I installed exactly in the manner GoJeep decribed with the motor in reverse, running. took all of 30 minutes for the entire install.

By the way, you can replace the front yoke on the 242 now with a flange to match the rear. That way you can creat identicle shafts for both front and rear. I am doing it right now and love it. I think the new flange is ready for the 231 also, I just had y guys started milling for the 242 first and then they thoght to do the 231 after.

I just did the RE H&T on my 242 yesterday. Took a couple hours taking my time (once I started following their directions). It turned out really well, and I have zero vibes. Even the ones I had at stock height are gone. I've never felt it ride so smooth in the almost 4 years i've owned it.

I am at 3.5", but from what I can see, it looks like you can do this stock and it still work.
