8.25 w/4.56 cross pin clearance?

hey,have a 98 with the 8.25,just installed 4.56 gears.it appears the ring gear is slightly covering the hole for the cross pin(open diff with a powertrax).looks like all i need to do is grind a bit from the bottom of one or two of the teeth.anyone done this?seems to be the only way.thanks

yes, you need to grind a few teeth on the ring gear to get the cross pin in

Yes, it must be done.
A high speed air grinder with a 60 grit 3M pad works best for me.

i just grinded the cross shaft.. works fine too

Thats what I did, I ground parallel to the bolt through the pin so the axle wouldn't have any play, but I guess thats common sense now isn't it lol
