last week, whilst wheeling at BIG DOGS, i came down hard on my rear driveshaft. tore the u-joint straps from the yoke and dropped the driveshaft. i removed the ds on the trail and limped back to camp in front-wheel drive. the strap bolts had broken off in the yoke and could not be removed. so i drilled them through and upgraded to u-bolts. it was a two hour round-trip to the nearest Pep Boys for the u-bolts and new u-joint. ugh.
i also discovered that when the u-joint spun out, it broke off one of the little stops that holds it from moving side-to-side. so i now need to replace the yoke. does anyone have one that they could part with?
