Quick D30 disco question

If I take the vacuum cover off of the disconnect housing for the Dana-30, so that I can put washers beside the shift fork to keep it connected, will any oil drain out? Or will it be oil-free inside there? I've never dealt with axles before, thanks.

Oil will drip out. At lest it did out of mine.

How much oil came out? As much as if you were to drain the diff?

no, just a bit may come out. just put a small pan or cup under it to keep from making a mess on the floor. It is not going to be a tidal wave of dif fluid.
