So I tagged along (more like drove) Steve and Matt to the junkyard saturday as an innocent bystander and ended up walking away with the best score. After getting bored watching them roll around in the gravel together (ew) I noticed the XJ they were under had some axle shafts in the D30... ended up walking out with LF and RF spare axles with unit bearings attached for a mere $63. I told my wife it was like Christmas in August, but unfortunately it was lost on her :)

Yeah...actually I did. I kept looking for Lincons and kept running into them first.

went to my local yard today and scored a pre 97 center console with functioning lid latch. next on the list is some waggy tail lights.

oh, by the way i saw a 8.25 open with 3.55 out of 98xj there. he is wanting 300. sounds kinda expencive though. and a ford 8.8 with disks and one or two more with drums. he charges the same price for the axles regardless if its a 35 or 8.8.

where did you go? Trans West? They had a 98 there with an 8.25. We were trying to get the shafts out of it.

If you find the caddy, I want a hydrobooster and master cylinder. Guess what I'm doing at Shop Days at BEHS... :D

it was at A-Howell in ogden, a bit off 12th st. if you want an exact location in the yard let me know as its hidden "under" another jeep (one drum sticking out from under the drivers side door) but its all there.

I won't go to Howells. He has never been nice to me and always over charged.

I'll throw this question out on this thread since it has to do with junkyards anyways-

Just got the lift on and am looking to eek out another 3/4"-1"

Does anyone have any MJ Comanche shackles for good karma, for sale, or otherwise know of a wasatch front junkyard that actually has a comanche I could go and get these off of this weekend??? If someone had JKS 1" shackles, I would buy those as well-

I'm in SLC and was going to check out the 2 pick a parts over on the 2100 South highway across from RMR. Never been there before and they look big and new-Hell, I didn't even know they existed til the other day-
Usually I go to pick a part on 3500 south because the little trailer cooks up great mexican food, but lately I've been going to the tear a part up on redwood in the north salt lake area.
No stranger to Kurts in AF either though-

Question--Almost positive I will need a SYE/Shaft, this works in conjunction with a angled shim, right? AND, when using an angled shim, is there any lift gained from it?
If so, maybe I will hold off on the shackle, and wait to get the driveline taken care of.

I know where a Comanche is for sale, don't know about one in a wrecking yard.
The shim will lift, but only 1/4-1/2" if that.. I have a shim, and an SYE.
