My front diferential plug was missing!

So I went outside a second ago to messure my rims and the spring heights to make sure all is well for a future plan to lift the bad boy. Well, I squated down infront of my XJ to find there was no plug in the front axle. And of course, I was driving threw mud today (enough to cover the sides/roof/hood with mud).

Think I caused any big problems? Should I do anything to it? My dad has to drive her tomaro to take the emissions test...

Pull the cover, inspect everything, clean it out real good with some brake cleaner and fill er back up.

You probably had the plastic plug. I would pick up a metal screw in plug maybe add a lil lock tite before you go wheeling next time.
