YJ front brake lines...

Can someone educate me on this a little. I heard that they are longer and will work for extended brake lines and they aren't too expensive. I wanted to go with a nice stainless steel braided set but i just dont have the cash to throw at that right now but if these are like $30 or $40 for a set then I would definately do the swap since I discovered after this last weekend that my stockers are too short now and get stretched to the limit when I flex.

im not sure about the yj hoses but i bought the gmc hoses. they are 14.99 a piece

you need 1 of each to do the front. these hoses are way longer then the factory ones. i hope this helps i know i didnt answer your exact question but i figured id give you another option..... btw i got those numbers from http://naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=70205&page=3 post #32 or the second from the top

I've got the YJ lines, but I'm not to keen with the bends in the hard line nearest the caliper. On the drivers side it points towards the shock too much.

could it be bent away from the shock some to prevent any possible contact? how much did you pay for them and where did you get them?

Mine were from Carquest, not sure on price. I wouldn't bend them by hand imo. Just go to the store and compare the GM lines mentioned above to a 95 Wrangler.

Did the GM lines also cause of issues people had with the longer hard line on the YJ ones. Plus the GM lines are longer than the YJ lines. Got them at O'Reillys.

I would recommend the GM lines. I am in switching out my YJ lines to Gm lines because I cannot get the full shock travel with the YJ lines at with 3.5" RE lift (measures to 4.5) with drop brackets and 11" shocks.

Another endorsement for the GM lines - that is what I am running. 6.5" long arms, no limit straps, long travel shocks and I can get the GM lines straight but not stretched (coil unseated and ready to pop out). They are much longer than stock.

the gm hoses bent toward the caliper. i have a 4.5 inch lift and when my truck is on jack stands the hoses reach to the hole in the wheel well that the brake line comes through

i have the 95 YJ lines on my XJ with 4.5" rustys springs. for me, they are more than ample. im also running a rear brakeline for a 96 dodge dakota. both have served me well and have had no issues

I see yall are saying GM hose but how do i research GM hose. What make, model and year. Or is it any GM product.

if you need to search it search for a 1995 gmc 1500 with a 5.7 liter 4 wheel drive. if you bring the numbers into the store they should be able to get the the correct hoses for you. the numbers are BH38620 and BH38621.

Call inline tube and talk to them about what you're doing and they will put together what you need. I lifted my 1997 by 2" and was having a tough time with the rear line. The stock line was too short at full extension, the Dodge Dakota line was too long and had a loop in the middle. Inline asked me a couple questions, I measured up what I needed, and it was delivered in a couple of days. They are a good company to deal with, top quality stuff.

For the front I replaced the stock lines in kind and dropped the body side of the flex lines by 2" to match the lift. No issues.

I put YJ front and rear lines on my 89 XJ with 4.5" lift. I got them at NAPA for $17.99 each. Yes I did have to bend the hard metal line coming off the caliper a little so take it would not hit the shock when the steering wheel was at full turn to the left and right. It took 15 second extra on the install.

GREAT CHEAP UPGRADE

What did you use to bend the lines and how much? They are fairly thick...a hand bend could lead to a kink, couldn't it?
