well lets try this again. my PC did something funky. anywho, lets get this party started.
are you ready for this.
it started out with me rolling out of bed at 6:45am, eating some b-fast, grabbing my GPS and my camera and most important, my pepsi. I then proceded to hop in my rig, start it up, turn on GPS, click CB radio on and flip to 4 and be on my way.
at the corner of 92nd and foster i found this staring at me
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v438/jeepless20/Jeep/100_2421.jpg
the weather out wasnt too good, but at least i got to see this thing for about half a second as it seemed to be in a hurry.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v438/jeepless20/Jeep/100_2422.jpg
remember how i was saying the drive out saturday morning wasnt real good weather wise? i lied. around 3-4mi east of the shell at the bottom of the big hill the sun came out to play with us.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v438/jeepless20/Jeep/100_2423.jpg
met up with torx and outdoors and i cant remember for the life of me who the guy in the silver LJ is.
from there we headid to camp, ware we found these hooligans
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v438/jeepless20/Jeep/100_2429.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v438/jeepless20/Jeep/100_2434.jpg
we hung out in camp for a wile so everyone had a chance to wake up, air down, or what have you. 'round 10:15is we split off into 2 groups, one with 8 rigs and one with 7 rigs i do believe.
partial group
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v438/jeepless20/Jeep/100_2442.jpg
we all got situated and headid for FB5.
south fork rd, did i mention it was B-E-A-Utiful out
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v438/jeepless20/Jeep/100_2446.jpg
cline rd is still heavy slopy snow covered. i couldnt get a good pic of it but maybie someone else did. i do have proof that it had snow. this is ware outdoors got his rig stuckerd, well up the road a little, but this is ware we parked.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v438/jeepless20/Jeep/100_2448.jpg
but finaly we made it after going all the way back down and up again.
i love this pic

i had a blast. still wish i was able to stay through the night for all the fun but i had to work sunday morning. got off work at 11:00am though so i figured i would go hunt the others down again. went up listend to the radio on 4 for a wile at rogers, then went down to ware thay were camped and then up to mini ruby. then i hear on the radio that thay are all heading back to camp. come to find out mojojojo broke a locating pin on the rear axle pass. side, (dont worry i have pics) bout mangled everything. fixed it up, broke camp and we all convoyed home. i didnt get to do any wheeling that day but between the brick of death and rod dogtracking 4-6inch to the pass side, the drive home was an adventure on its own. hope yall enjoyed my pics. lets see more.

Great pics Jr.!
damage update: Took everything apart today to try and band-aid things back together for the work week.....holy crap, what a mess!!!!! both center pins broken, both shims gone, and the small bottom leaf pass side gone!!!!!. Also found that in my rush to duct tape it together for the ride home that i managed to completely chew up a wheel stud and lug nut. stole a leaf from my old stock pack and a cpl new U-bolts and center pins and aside from a lil passenger G-ride lean again, i'm all good to go ! Thanks again for the help and watchfull eyes guys.

I am guessing you eaither had aluminum shims and they cracked or you didn't have your u bolts tight enough. Especially since it happend to both sides!

Just wondering if anyone got video if Michelle and I doing Firebreak 5... would be cool to have a shot of the Grape going up the first stage ( or any video, frankly!!!)... it was really her first trip of this magnitude, and her kids in Missouri would get a kick out of seeing something like that... if not, cool... we'll get some next time...
Thanks! :wave1: :peace: :music:
P.S. I REALLY wish it had been light enough to video Kara going up Can Openner... I think that would've been THE vid of the weekend... sorry for not getting more video... had I not been so amped to be on the trails, I'd have shot some more... lesson learned: lay-off the frickin' Mt. Like everyone has said before, it truly was an awesome weekend. The weather cooperated with us for the most part on Saturday, and did it's usual TSF thing for the rest of the weekend.
I met up with 06Rubi (Dave) in Vancouver on Saturday, and from there we set out for TSF.
After topping off at Gales Creek. $3.99 a gallon was harsh, but I was glad to see I averaged 19.6mpg.
http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t123/Torx_89/Browns%20Camp%205-08%20MD/IMG_1194.jpg
We arrived at camp around 9:45, and began to disco and air down. By 10:30 everyone had arrived and we had 15 Jeeps total, an impressive number. After splitting into two groups we set out for the day.

Jeepboy381 (Josh) playing on Mini Rubicon. It sadly wasn't conquered this weekend.
http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t123/Torx_89/Browns%20Camp%205-08%20MD/IMG_1198.jpg
The first section of Firebreak 5 proved to be a good obstacle for some. Redjeep3 (Nick) coming up. I think having the swaybar disconnected would have made a world of difference.

At the second section, a few people tried their hand at the rock garden. According to Roger a "bath tub" sized rock was the obstacle to overcome. However, Kara chose a different one. Now thats a real jack stand!

What was the definition of insanity again? Repeating the same behavior but expecting different results. :D

After completing Firebreak 5 the majority of the group headed out for the day, or back to camp. Only those of us hardcore enough stayed to continue on. :laugh3:
Now with a group of 7, we set out for Archers Firebreak. Both Ken and Roger made it up Canopener.
http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t123/Torx_89/Browns%20Camp%205-08%20MD/IMG_1218-1.jpg
Roger put on a great show with the LTB's clawing their way up. Hopefully someone got it on video.

By that time another group came by to watch, and two rigs decided to tackle it. The first Toyota slammed a tire into the rock, which resulted in his driveshaft coming apart.
http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t123/Torx_89/Browns%20Camp%205-08%20MD/IMG_1222-1.jpg
The second exo'd Runner eventually made it up, but with some serious abuse done to the front shaft via the large center rock.

Canopener.

Waterfall was the last obstacle of the day. Outdoors (Steve) set out first with his fresh 35" Coopers.

He truly couldn't have made it look easier. Not only did he crawl the entire thing, have his front swaybar connected, he also had his front ARB open.
Roger heading up. The ground was a little slick, but proved to have enough traction to get by.

The right side of the Waterfall.

Afterwards, Steve took us back to camp the "back way." That proved to be an adventure by itself :D.
Also, paging KarlVP, while I was airing up at Rogers Camp on Sunday I overheard the Timber Tamers. Something about how they were going to get the Landcrusier back to camp, and being broke down 15 miles east of Lee's Camp? I'm curious what the story was.
All in all, great weekend!

Man, looks like you guys had a great time, wish I could've come. Unfortunatly (not really) I had planned months earlier for another trip the same weekend. BTW Torx, 3.99 sounds pretty sweet, I had consecutive fillups of 4.65, 4.09, 4.12 and 4.10.

Thanks, JuniorXJ.. can't wait for the vids..
From Torx, "Afterwards, Steve took us back to camp the "back way." That proved to be an adventure by itself ."
lol, omg, What a mistake that was coming down to the Rogers Trail starting point..lol.. When we were on the top up there (nice view) I knew I should have went back one more road before turning left to go down. It has been at least seven years since I had been that route... Fire fox trail use to be one my favorites over there for years but they rerouted the trail and it just hasn't been the same since...

That was definitely a new area for me. Everything past Canopener I need to familiarize myself with. None the less, it was good to see another part of the area. Great views from up top, but I felt for you guys with the autos go down that hill.
What trail was it that we passed right before with got on the highway? Rogers Road?

According to the new map Rogers Road is 1.7 miles. We ran it Sunday, got most of the way up and had to turn around (it's pretty tight up there) due to a fallen tree. Then ran into traffic on the way back down!
