Just wondering, I would like to go on Sunday to test out my lift. I should have it installed Friday, but might need saturday to get an alignment. I have no real preference as to where we wheel, as long as its a fun trail.

Chinamans Gulch is near BV.....I think the other trail you are thinking of is China Wall near Jefferson

Howcome you Colorado natives let this Illinois flatlander learn so much about your trails anyway? :D

Hes continually snuck in from the East. We don't have a big rock wall on that side. Though we should build one.............

But I'm also up for something closer if that would help some of you all out. I'm open for Ideas!! Went up to eaglerock last weekend and it was still snowed in. Did saran wrap instead(lots of fun but to short.)

I'm down for Chinaman's Gulch, although the gas drain will suck, anything near Idaho Springs area would be great. It would allow me to stop by Tommy Knockers for a pint. :)

It's part of the Independance Trail System just outside of Penrose, CO.

35's, lockers, winch/recovery gear, and expect some body damage.

Who's in?

DutchVDub
May 21st, 2008, 17:25
Ouch, not me then. No lockers, no winch, no front tow hooks, and only 32's. But I do already have body damage. :D

traildamage.com has a rather extensive write up and a TON of pics, looks like fun but way out of my league with this setup.

Is it really closer I just was looking at a map. Looks farther. Plus my buddie just put lockers in and really wants to test em out. How would I come to SH from the springs?

DutchVDub
May 22nd, 2008, 20:34
Well i just googled it, looks like if you go via I25N to C470 to H285 its about 102miles to Bailey w/ a 1hr43min travel time. Slaughterhouse is before Bailey.

The shorter route would be to take US24 W to CO-67, go right and follow to CO-126/Deckers Rd, follw that to US-285 and go Left towrds Bailey. That route is 73.9miles to Bailey, but has a travel time of 1hr58min most likely because of the smaller nature of the little highways.

According to Google Buena Vista is about 93.4miles and 2hr03min from Colorado Springs. So even if you take the shorter but slower route to SlaughterHouse its still faster than Buena Vista. :D
