95 XJ Dana 30 - crush sleeve?

Blaine B.

Should a 1995 XJ Dana 30 have a crush sleeve on the pinion? Doing bearings on the axle, there wasn't a crush sleeve on the pinion, but rather some shims. Just thought that was kind of odd to not see a crush sleeve. It wasn't like it flew out when I removed the pinion and nobody noticed it, it's not something that can really get lost in a garage. But I am still wanting to check before everything goes back together. Thanks in advance!

TJ's and 2000-01 XJ's do use a crush sleeve.

High pinion D30 uses shims, low pinion uses crushsleeve.

Thank you!

Oh yea, does anybody know if there's supposed to be a washer between the pinion nut and the yoke? That's another thing I can't seem to "find."
When you do a teardown, do it in an organized fashion, making sure to grab parts as they "fall off" heh.
