Hi i was going to replace my front axle (dana 30) in my 90 xj and was wondering what other jeep axles are compatiable just in case the yard i go to dosent have a XJ.
Would a axle from a grand cherokee work or from the wrangler with coils, dont remeber the code name right now know the cj and tj but what was the late 90s early 2000s one called?

1997+ TJ Wrangler. LP D30. Rubicon TJ Wrangler. LP D44, a glorified D30 from what I have read.
ZJ, Grand Cherokee. LP D30.
1984-1999 XJ Cherokee. HP D30. 2000-01 Cherokee LP D30.
I believe those are correct for being LP vs. HP. Correct me if Im wrong.

But you need the correct spring mounts if your changing the hole thing.
Are you just changing gears or the hole thing, you also need the correct gear ratio to match what you have in the rear.

im changing the whole thing for hopefully a stronger one going to brace it and stuff.. So i'm gonna try to find one with hopefully the same gearing is there a easy way to tell from like a tag or something on it besides the rear end tag on the diff? and if i do find one wiht lower gearing im going to take the front and rear.
so a 97+ wranger, any Grand and cherokee.
sry for this question 12 gauge but what does the lp and hp stand for or is it something completly obvious lol

Getting an LP is a down grade. Read up and check out these 2 threads:

No, not "any" Grand. Any 93 thru 98 ZJ Grand. The 99 and newer WJ Grands still used a D30 axle, but the rotors are larger and only fit 16" rims, and the bolt pattern is different so you can't run XJ (or YJ, or ZJ, or TJ) rims.
