D35 shafts, c-clip vs non c-clip

Can a shaft from c-clip axle be used in non c-clip housing and carrier? Obviously bearings would need to be pressed on these, but can they be pressed on c-clip shafts?

I'm playing with idea of carrying my set of c-clip shafts as spares for my older D35..

I doubt it. On the c-clip axle, the axle surface is machined for the inner bearing race. It wouldn't have the proper diameter or shape to press on the non-clip bearing and locking collar.

I didn't want to go trough pulling shafts just to compare them, so this helped a lot!
