WTB: d30 outer shaft

needs to fit a 297 joint, all i need is the outer.

i'm not sure if the long side will fit, if possible could you put a micrometer on the middle of the shaft? i bypassed the vacuum box on my disco axle and now the axle rides on the seal towards the middle of the shaft instead of the end. the long side shaft out of my 94 front end was too thick, but a one piece shaft out of an 87 xj was narrow enough.

How did you get a one piece right front shaft from an 87?

apparently not all of them came with the vacuum box. i bought a 44 & 30 combo from a guy out of his 87 and the 30 was a non disco

yeah.. All 297 outers are the same.. Is it the stock axle shafts in it? If so the early models look like 297 shafts but theyre the smaller shafts when you get out a measuring tape. Anyways i have the pass side inner and outer with a 297 u-joint from napa on it. Less then 300 miles on the u-joint..

Ok, thats fine the yard around here want 125 a shaft with bad u-joints,... Thats why i ended up buying superiors :cool:
