Yup. However, fortionatly she wasn't really moving faster than 3mph. No I didn't drop it in a parking lot trying to mount or dismount.

Around my house is a rotary. They're not very diffucult and they require only that you know which way you want to go but somhow people just don't get it... I was riding along behind this small car, I couldent tell what make but it doesn't matter. They go to take a left off the rotary but then spur of the momment decide they want to take the right off the rotary. Which is right where I am. I somhow managed to stop without getting killed (I had to ride down a rear wheel skid) and they run speeding off. I got a look inside their car because I high beamed it as I was stopping. It was full of little kids who just got their licence. The ones in the back seat looked back and saw me fall down with the bike, my leg undernieth the bike and I fall to the ground. They kept on going....

Luckily another biker had seen the whole thing and helped me get the bike back up. The aftermath: I don't think I'm going to be able to do my Squats correctly tomorow... My leg friggin hurts and it's a little swollen. Probobly going to be OK though. Damage on the bike was limited to scratches and a broken front break lever. I think I did pretty well all considering. I'm still pretty shaken up about the whole thing.

sorry wrong answer...

those same little asshats that knocked mdl down are the same little asshats that would run you over while walking across the target parking lot and keep on driving because mom would pull their driving privileges.

When your time's up...

well...

beep beep beep beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

Oh....I say the same thing you just did all the time.

I don't ride anymore b/c it scares the pi$$ out of ME. It doesn't matter if there's cars around or not. The moto was not for me.

I've got a Suzuki Katana 750. Okie calls it a chick bike.. :roflmao:

I would discourage you from getting a 600 or a 750 as a first bike unless you allready ride. Take the MSF class as well. It's a whole year of riding experience into 2 days.

There's only 2 kinds of riders. Those that have gone down, and those that will. Plan on it, and you won't be surprised.

Two words, body armor. I've been riding for over forty years. Law of averages says your are going down, every five years or so, no matter how carefull you are.
I pretty much destroyed my bike the last time down, but I came out of it with a couple of dislocated fingers, some serious bruising, aches, pains and swollen joints. Bib leather pants, with padding and plastic inserts. Leather Jacket with padding, inserts and a half back board. A real brick of a Bell Helmet. Bike boots with inserts, almost enduro boots.
I cut through one of the boots and even through one sock, but it never touched my foot. Two giant bruises on my shoulders, where the helmet rim jammed down onto them (the helmet is designed to do that, instead of your neck breaking). Zipper torn out of the jacket (a seriously heavy duty zipper) where it hung on something, which left a really big diagonal bruise across my chest.
Without all the body armor, I probably would have been really torn up.
I always figured if I was dumb enough to ride something like that, I was going to be smart enough to give myself every chance to live through the experience.
I've burried a lot of friends and acquintances, who disagreed with my philosophy. I even wear the full rig in the summer, no matter how hot it gets, it will still be cooler than your ass is gonna get, sliding down the interstate.

And that was a bunch who did not see you, consider you have drivers out there that will see you and do the same thing or more anyway. I put mine away when I had kids and almost got whacked 2x on the way home early one sat morning from the post office. I shudder when I see riders in shorts and flip flops, I shudder even more when I see a nice looking chick riding pillion in a bathing suit.

I rode mine (LOL chick bike) to work this morning for the first time...

I hadn't rode on the street in 12? years, forgot all about fog & deer. Remind me to shoot every one I see this year... baby bambis too, just for thinking they are allowed to live...

Fun shit though... life starts getting good over 12,000 RPM :viking: Weird feeling after 3 other streetbikes, of which none were less than 1000cc, and two were HD twins.

And yes Mr Nader, I wore a bunch of gear (amazed it still fits 30# later) and have better gear/armor inbound on the big brown truck.

I saw a guy a couple weeks ago attempting to ride a wheelie on his 1300 cc Hayabusa, my kids and I were at a fast fod place, when I heard a rev-limiter screaming, looked over and saw a Hayabusa vertical as the rider came off the back! Probably going 45-50 mph! He had on one of those worthless "skull cap" helmets, a "wife-beater", and some jeans. Yep, you guessed it... his face hit the road! Took a chunk out of his top lip! Road rash from hell all the way across his shoulders and arms, ground his palms down pretty good too! I helped him get his bike outa the road after calling 911. The bike slid far enough to grind thru the engine case and spew oil everywhere. BTW... an oily Hayabusa is HARD to pick up! LOL! The moral of the story... wear a REAL helmet, appropriate jacket and gloves, and don't ride "over your head".

Same reasons I'm still a little skittish about just getting on my bicycle more than I have. I have a customer that got forced off the road while riding his Aprila some time last year. He was going 55 in the outside lane when somebody decided to change lanes and forced hime onto a sideroad while aimed at a light pole! The bike started to wobble beond his control so he bailed at speed and only managed to get some road rash and bruises even though he wasn't even wearing a helmet let alone any other protection! The bike ended up hitting hard and wrapping itself arount the pole. He has since replaced it with a 4.0l WJ, which he was researching at the time anyway.
