Ho-Boy am I relieved............................... I have been wondern' jus what tha hell was wrong with me.................... now I know the answer, thanks to Mr. Obama................. I am what's known as 'Bitter and Frustrated' ................................ Boy howdy, am I glad to know that is all it was................... I was beginning to think it was something serious........ I also found out 'nother little tidbit of 'rude awakening' shall we say.................. now keep this under your hat, we don't want them Islamic fanatics (or their apologists in this country) to find this out............... but did you know that us folks way out here in rural American small towns, in addition to being bitter and frustrated, also have a habit of, now get this, WE HAVE A HABIT OF HANGING ON TO OUR GUNS AND RELIGION................. hear that, and that's not all, we are jus' pure and simply INTOLERANT OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION...............Oh Really!!!! now shame on us.................... There is one nothr thing he either mis-judged, overlooked, or simply forgot to mention is the fact that us'ems out here in rural America is just about to the point of gathering up our GUNS AND RELIGION and taking our REPUBLIC back from these idiots like him that seem to talking CHANGE these days............................... WELL, I 've got little bit o' news for them folks, so they better listen up............... We out here in rural America took a lik'en to that slogan, CHANGE, so thanks to you'all bringing it up we here have decided to use the word 'CHANGE' when us folks have to do our Constitutional Duty and stand up and take back our Republic from the likes of you idiots................!!!
Proud Citizen, Voter, Combat Veteran, Flag Waving Resident of Small Town Rural America, Armed and Religious

"Bitter and Frustrated" isn't limited to rural America. I'm living in what's considered a "major city" (OK, I grew up in "rural America",) and I'm highly bitter and frustrated. I'm also paranoid - I keep having this fear that the idiots in this country will elect a liar like Obama to the White House. Or worse - Hillary! (I see a lot of Hillary! and Obama bumper tags around here...)
But mainly, I'm "bitter and frustrated" because we have had a string of leaders who haven't had any balls to deal with these problems we're having (terrorism, fuel costs, economic inflation, devaluation of the dollar due to the trade deficit with the Pacific Rim, &c.) and we therefore keep having them.
I guess I'm just cranky - but I'd like to read about a Presidential candidate solving problems before (s)he started running for office (for the record: I have no trouble with the idea of a woman President. Women can be more practical about things than men, if they've got their heads screwed on straight. But dear Gawd, don't let it be Hillary!) and see a description that runs something like, "Balls like church bells" or "clangs when (s)he walks." (Yes, I know it sounds funny. But, I've met women who have more balls - in a figurative sense - than quite a few ersatz men we've been raising in this day and age.)
I'm not particularly religious. I've no trouble with Faith - but I dislike organised religion - it's too close to brainwashing. But, religion is a personal choice - if it works for you, fine. Please don't preach to me.
Ownership of personal firearms is a personal choice - and not something to be dictated to me (besides, it's easy enough to make something akin to the Liberator from WWII. With that, you can always work your way up to something better.)
I don't want to be told what I should think - the only thing that honks me off more is someone (who doesn't know me from Adam's cat) telling me what I am thinking. How would you know? You don't live in my head...
If you can identify a problem, you can work on solving the problem. It's a current issue, not a political token to be used in the games of Statesmanship. Impress me with a solution - I can identify problems all day long. If you can't come up with a solution, talk to me and I'll get you started. It should at least give you the germ of an idea. I've got ideas...
I'll shut up now. For a little while, anyhow...

Well because I think that religion and politics are the two top evils in today's society, I've come to the conclusion that it's best I stay out of these topics. I will only post my popcorn response.

The whole system needs a flush. I can't say anything about either canidate because it's a joke.
Funny that I agree with being knee deep in spoons and gumby with this tho.

We should give the job away in a SS number lottery.
If a crack head won...it couldn't be much worse then whats running.

I would like to add that nobody making over 100k a year should be in the lottery. That is a big problem with politics, all the politicians are wealthy (thats why they can afford to be politicians).

Most of them have JDs, and there are a couple of PhDs as well. Education does not equal intelligence (and damn sure doesn't equate to common sense!)

The phrase "Educated beyond their intelligence" fits here.

The full quote is, I believe, "An 'intellectual' can be readily defined as: 'An individual educated beyond his intelligence'."
I don't recall who said it, but I've found it to be usually true.

If the common man cannot run and be elected to honestly represent his peers within society, the system has failed.

Addendum - No elected position should pay over $100K per annum, either.
And, there should be no retirement package or benefits. Politics has become a career for those who are unfit to work in the private sector.
