ok temp gauge stopped working,did some searching,here is what i got
85 xj with the killer gm v6,there is a sensor(i think it is melted) it is above the water pump,close to the t stat has a 2 wire pig tail going to it,and seems to be screwed into the block.so,the connecter is completly melted onto the sensor,i can not even remove it.is this the temp sending unit?if so how do i remove it from the block?also were can i find another connector? bone yard?dealer? fyi, the engine is painted,and so is this sensor. any thing would be great guys thanks. oh1 what could cause this to melt? dont wanna do a new one and have it happen again
