rear dshaft ujoint caps loose

Hey all. I have a 00 with ome 3" lift, sye, and tom woods shafts. I don't have any vibes at all after the sye and shimming going on 4 yrs now. Problem is it eats rear u joints. This time is a little different. The straps on the ujoint are new, not reused, but the joint is loose in the straps on one side. I talked to tom woods some time ago and he mentioned the pinion yoke may be bad? Would that cause the straps to not tighten down? The 5/16" bolts are real tight and have lock tite on them. Any thoughts on the yoke being bad?

my buddies xj had a bad yoke and was letting the u joint caps spin. we shimed them with strips of beer can till he could afford a new yoke

Driveshaft out of balance possibly. My buddy's TJ was eating rear u-joints as well and that's what was causing it.

can't hurt to swap yokes. simple too do and cheap. any deisel drivetrain shop should be able to check the driveshaft for wobble too

i don't think the shaft is out of balance but how in the world would i know unless i get it checked right? 99.9% i think it's the yoke. so is there a better yoke design i can put on or just replace it?

i'm assuming easy fix?

bad yoke. replaced it and vibe free once again.
