Little Moab Clean-Up - May 10, 2008

Join us May 10th for a fun day at Little Moab, located just west of Utah Lake. Meet at 9:00 AM at the crossroads of Redwood Rd (Hwy 68) and Lehi Main Street (Hwy 73) in the parking lot of the Smith's grocery store. Or, meet us out at Little Moab at 10:00 AM. We'll have location info on the larger spots of trash needing to be dispatched to our large dumpsters. Trash bags, dumpsters and a U4WDA t-shirt will be provided to all volunteers. Bring your own gloves, covered shoes (no sandles!), water and lunch.

Invite your friends and family to come out! This area sees high amounts of use from all land users, and we have greater advantages to move the trash out with aid from our rigs. Let's continue to set a high standard of land use ethics and ownership. We'll see you and yours there!

When: Saturday May 10th

Where: 9:00 AM at the Smith's grocery store at the crossroads of Redwood Rd (Hwy 68) and Lehi Main Street (Hwy 73), or 10:00 AM at Little Moab

What: Public land trash removal project. All volunteers will receive a free U4WDA t-shirt.

Attention, IC members! This is going to be our "official" May run. We will help with the clean up, pick up our free t-shirts, and then hit the rocks for some fun. Please come join us! This will be a run for stockers and the built up rigs so everyone will be able to have some fun.

I really want to go, but if the weather is clear I will be tearing off my roof and re sheeting and shingling it. I have SAT-SUN-MON off so this is the weekend to get it done. Waether permitting.

I will not make it. Have a family trip.
Good luck. If you meet red-bull (red late model 33x10.5 BFG ATs and a roof rack) say hi to him. He went on a trip last year and I havs been trying to get him to join.

I had really good intentions of going, but I figured I wouldn't have made it far with my steering box sitting on the floor of my garage. On the bright side, I finally got the broken bolt out and the steering box back on the Jeep. I think it is finally ready to wheel:)

Did anyone go out to little Moab today and how did it turn out?

When/Where is the June run???

I went after all but should have stayed in bed.

Jack showed up, gravesdiggerxj sans jeep (fix that death wobble yet?), my friend kyle brought his XJ. Saw another chapter member who breifly stopped by. couple other cherokee guys who's rigs looked familiar. An MJ was there too Dave! guy from springville with a nice little tan bob tailed long bed, he was tearing it up pretty good w/ that LWB and improved departure angle but hardly even had a budget lift.

We came, we cleaned, we wheeled, we went home. I was miserable the whole time but enjoyed it as best I could.

I would have loved to have made it, but I started tearing into my roof Saturday morning. I took off 4 layers of shingles, shakes and re sheeted the roof and got the tar paper up to dry it in. Started at 6:30 in the morning and ended 12:30 sunday morning. Slept for a little while and finished getting it dried in Sunday afternoon. Not a day I want to do again.

Hopefully I will get the shingles on before i go to Canada 2 weeks away.

My boy started getting sick Friday afternoon. By Saturday morning he had a fever of 102 and was pretty stuffy and coughing so I stayed home with him while my wife took our daughter to a fire truck parade our city was having. By the afternoon he wouldn't eat or drink. Sunday I started coming down with it too and we were both miserable. He is starting to do better today, at least he'll drink now without throwing it back up.
