Fitball Chair bought at Amazon.com - they come in different colors.
Not sure exactly why I decided on getting one of these - I guess it was partially to be a little different, and partially because I thought it might help me with my posture and loosing weight.
I'm 6'1" and 250lbs.
According to the crazies who made the BMI scale, I've eaten about 300 big macs and two whales more than I should have.
I sit about 6 hours out of every work day.
Day 1) I found the chair very awkward to sit on at first, and I also wished that the back of the chair could adjust a little higher.
I had read from others who reviewed it, that some complain about sore legs because they continually have to balance themselves - I did not find this to be a problem.
It took me about three hours to get comfortable.
Day 2) My back was aching last night. I guess it's because I'm using muscles that I haven't exercised in a long time. But after sitting on this chair for about 30 minutes, my back no longer hurts. My body must be working a little harder to sit on this chair because I noticed that I was sweating - when I usually don't.
Day 3) The ball is firm, but it has settled a little. I initially wished that the back of the chair could be adjusted higher, but now it's perfect.
The jokes about the ball have really taken off. My boss it telling others that he doesn't have to worry about me because "He's on the ball." Someone else said "Hey, it looks like your left nut is trying to overcompensate."
Day 4) No more back pain. I've not felt any soreness in my legs. I am still sweating, so I hope its helping burn some extra calories.
Day 5) Other co-workers have asked me to try out my ball. My plan to make others envious is working...Buah-Ha-Ha!

Why didnt you get the purple ball though??
EDIT:
One other thing, what made you go with the fitball instead of the Gaiam Balance?

The Gaiam and Isokinetics balls are 52cm and were "Designed for users 5' to 5'11" tall."
The Fitball is larger - 55cm., and designed for those taller than 5'11".
I am 6'1".

I saw this also... but its from 2005.. alot can change in 3 years. Do you trust an article this old? Seems to be the only site that says its "not" good also. The reviews for these chairs are usually really good. But this could be also like the reviews for a TB spacer... all usually really good, but it really doesnt do much of anything.

I see... i thought it might of been the adjustability. Im 5'8 and about 205-210 right now. I dont look overweight except for my big ol beer belly! Do you think someone of my size would benefit from smaller balls? I mean a smaller ball! ;)

The review seemed to be against a plain ball on the floor.
This chair has a back support and is more stable.

If you read everything in there it's basically against any variation of a fitball being used as a chair. Just throwin' it out there.

It sucks, no cooler in the arm rest, no recline, I'd end up on the floor if I tried to stretch... be a bitch to take a power nap in too...
If I see one I might try it on for size, wonder if sharper image has them...

That's actually my desk at home.
I took the picture at home, but then I took the chair to work.
It's a cheap desk - the fake wood grain is peeling off all around it and I have to keep gluing it back down.

yah i think mine was only $125 and the wood laminate is peeling off on the keyboard tray. The tray doesnt have the catch to keep it out anymore so when i'm typing if i apply any pressure on my wrists it just slides back in. it kinda suck but i've had it for about 4 years now.
btw the chair looks like it could be fun, i'd keep it at home and expirment with the old lady

Thats a pivotal buying point for me... can my step sis use it while naked as a medicine ball on the ground too?

Probably.
Send picture of naked step sis and I'll photoshop in a ball. :D

and yes, the ball is removable.
My big butt and gravity hold it in place.

2 month evaluation:
I've not exercised any more or changed my diet at all.
I've lost about 10 lbs. in the last 2 months - from 250 to 240.
I've also not had any back pain lately - whereas, before I had frequent back pain.
I think it's because the chair is forcing me to sit up straight - better posture.

I use several of those in my classroom. I just use the fit ball though. It's real good for some kids (those with ADD/ADHD, Aspergers, etc) that need to figet or self-stimulate in order to focus. They sit on it and lightly bounce instead of rocking or even flapping their arms like wings (like one of mine earlier this year). Pretty simple modification for a general education class setting. All of the kids want to use one so there's never any embarassment felt by the special needs learner.
