87 4.0L XJ fusible links

I've got a fusible link that keeps blowing as soon as the key is put into "run"

It didn't happen until I dropped the motor/tranny back in and hooked C101 back up.

fuel pump relay does not kick on, the dash gauges do NOTHING (all this stuff worked before the engine/tranny went in)

I swapped everything over from a 4.0L 87 XJ to a 2.5L 87 MJ

I've been working pretty much NON STOP on this since about 3pm YESTERDAY and this problem is really starting to just piss me off :mad:

Well... after passin out, and gettin a little bit of sleep... I found it, and it's the wierdest thing I have ever seen in my life.

coming off the ignition switch, the feed to the ignition module shorted to (according to the chilton :rolleyes: ) the tach wire...

I'm glad you found it. I have the '88 wiring diagrams, but they are a book unto themselves, literally hundreds of pages, and there's simply no way I could copy or scan all that stuff for you.
