SWR meters that are in the radio are notoriously inaccurate. This radioshack meter is good and it can handle up to 2000 Watts.

This is a great 102" Whip, one of the few "Great" products that radioshack still has. I would also recommend getting a 6" pot belly spring to go along with it.

A 102" whip is cut for a spring, for use without a spring you need a 108" whip.

ok iv got 2 things is this a good mount apart from its complexity to mount.
http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062088&cp=&pg=2&origkw=cb&kw=cb&numProdsPerPage=20&parentPage=search

Both are correct. The mount works fine on the right rear fender. You will need to drill 4 holes to mount it.

RG-58 is the worst possible coax you couls use. Just thinking about radioshack coax makes my stomach turn. Get some GOOD RG-8x (mini 8)
This is the coax I run, and I bought it from this seller and I highly recommend him. One of the best E-bay transactions I have done so far.

Also, you only need enough coax to connect the radio to the antenna. the 18' rule is a myth. If you do have extra coax DO NOT coil it up.
And no, being that the radio and the antenna are from radio shack does not mean that your SWR will be any better or worse.

Nice antenna, I can't find them anywhere anymore :(

Its never hit the body, not on the road, not on the trail.
Look in my first post in this thread, and I have a link to the antenna on radio shacks site.

Check these guys out. http://www.firestik.com/index.htm Regardless if you buy one of there brand of antennas, or not the sight has a lot of good info in the tech section. Anything I cant find at my local CB shop I get from Wilcot CB. It is linked from the Firestick website.

I made my mount out of some stainless I had laying around. It mounts to all three holes of the taillight.

littlewhitexj do you tie that down when your driving?
and its funny that the height of the antenna is 3x the size of the jeep.

How do you deal with situations such as parking garages, where the ceiling is much shorter than the antenna? Do you just take it off or tie it down?

when i got my jeep first inspected when i had the 5 foot mag mount antenna. they have a aircraft hanger look alike thing. they have a huge garage door so i just drove in. not realizing that the ceeling was much lower. and it was that wash board stuff and clang clang clang. woops.

I never tie it down. My jeep is never parked in a garage, and I dont do parking ramps. I drive all over with it like that, its just fine.
I actually recently moved it down to the bumper, but I dont have any pics, and I havent tuned it up either.
