Hey all. I am relo/ movings from the Ft Knox KY area to the Aberdeen MD area with the DOD and I have a quick question. Well 3 questions. 1) Is this the correct chapter? I am currently in the MWC. 2) Any suggestions on housing/Rent ie; Good/safe areas, Cost. I dont mind driving a little to get to work if the price is right. Also has to accept pets. 3) Not much into condo/townhouse life unless it is required. Thanks all and I look forward to meeting/ wheeling with you.

Where will you be working? Is the DOD in Aberdeen? I do alot of traveling down that way, but I live over the border in Pa. I have heard that property taxes and such are somewhat high down that way, so do your homework if your looking to buy a house. You may want to consider checking out the south eastern corner of Pa if your going to be working in Aberdeen or along that northeastern finger of Md.

We do have members that live in Md, maybe they can weigh in here too.

When are you coming up?? We are doing a Meet and Greet April 26th at Rausch, it would be great to meet you.

Cool. I am thinking hard about living in PA. Any suggestions on locations? Yes I am with the Department of Defense and will be working on Aberdeen and Edgewood Proving Grounds. I am already here on a short term basis till I get everything set up to move. Just thought some of you from the area would have suggestions on some good areas.

There are some very rural sections of PA close there. I would recommend staying close to either Route 1, 272, or maybe 74 either in Pa or Md. I can give you a good baseline though, I can get from Oxford, Pa to Aberdeen, Md in about 25-30 mins. I actually live further northeast from there, but drive that route regularly. The section of Md north of Aberdeen is fairly rural too.

You may have to do some exploring, there are not many folks from that area on here.

I have lived in 7 states in 7 years and I found all my housing on craigslist.org got great houses and they were pretty cheap
