An idle with a mind of its own

Im stumped. When I start my 90 Laredo up, it idles fine, holdin steady right around 800. I take off and only have to run a mile or two, throw it up in neutral and its now holding up around 2000 rpm's and refuses to come down. Stays this way util I shut it off. 2000 rpm's makes for a hard shift into reverse. Anyone have any ideas where to look?

Its pretty common. Its usually a mis-adjusted TPS, or a bad/Dirty IAC. Clean the IAC, and check your TPS for the proper specs. Then see what happens. Im betting your IAC is pretty dirty.
