IAC question

Went to buy a new IAC today. The pictures on the AdvanceAuto computer show the pin(lack of better term) coming from the sensor with a spring around it. Mine is a '97 XJ and it has the same setup as the picture at the autoparts store, but mine has no spring.

Is this normal not to have the spring? Would it be alright to replace the old IAC with the new spring-type IAC?

the picture isnt always for that particular year or applications, sometimes its just a generic/stock picture.
