Toyota 4 Runner Turbo Question

hey everyone

my buddy is in need of help......i know most guys on here are into more than just cherokees so i thought i would ask and see if anyone would bite

anyone on here know anywhere where he can get a good new turbo kit for his 86 Toyota 4runner....

we have both been looking on the internet for this since his turbo has started to go..

we both know his truck is kind of a rare vehicle and its going to be harder to find parts for it...he is an excellent mechanic and i'm not to shabby myself...

but if anyone knows anyone or any page on the net to get into contact with to get a new turbo kit for it it would be greatly appreciated

Get a Garrett or similar good brand turbo, similar to the stock size, and make it a custom job. Might end up being cheaper.

he has a garrett but its a bit bigger than stock

on the old girl i think he is afraid of denoation!...lol

......i think he is more or less looking for something more stock that has the internal waste gate and such.....i guess the thing only runs stock at like around 8 psi so i dont know...

we have both been around the net and have only come up with one place that sells stuff for his engine....

its hard for him to find any tech help too like says NAXJA ...i have it for jeeps but for his "TURBO" 4Runner is kinda hard...

he regrets buying that thing all the time when he is looking for parts

Try asking mike at moose dot ca. He may have some info or be able to hook you up with someone who knows more. He is in Colorado so knows who is in the know about the old Turbo Toys in the midwest.

My neighbor is into 'yota's bigtime. He basically runs a shop on the side out of his garage specializing in Toyota trucks. He said best place to find a turbo would be ebay. Otherwise, he recomends these guys;

They sell a kit to run a domestic turbo instead of the original. He has one on his truck, his Mom's old truck, and just did another guy in our club's truck. Good luck. BTW, you wouldn't have a spare turbo motor laying around?
